  1. I know that if I purchase things on ebay from Canada, the shipping costs a whole lot more. I'm not sure if its the other way around: from the US to Canada. When I've purchased from Canada, there aren't any taxes, you just pay a lot for shipping!
  2. I sometimes feel bad because usually my BF and I will play together and we usually get paired up with a single or another couple and I'm usually THE worst player in our group and I just feel bad :( But they keep pairing us up though. We've found some really cool people to play with because we're always paired up with different people.
  3. And greens tend to break away from the mountains as well?
  4. Agree...I miss Vince...but it would be awesome to see the two brothers go at it
  5. Yes!! Thanks, I didn't think it was last year!
  6. My SW is my favorite club that I have been able to hit the best with! But I figure that with my new LW, I won't need my SW and risk over hitting it/over swinging it when I'm within pitching/chipping distance.
  7. That was actually a pretty good game!! Its kind of funny because last year the Pats were undefeated, and now the Saints are undefeated
  8. From 4-7pm tonight, Golfsmith is having an additional 10-15% off items in their stores for Golfsmith club members :)
  9. That's very un-classy, to not return things that just aren't yours. That's a bummer :(
  10. There are some good people around. The BF left 3 clubs on the course and by the time we got home, he finally realized that he left the clubs there. He called the pro shop, and sure enough, people had turned them in! Phew!! There's always a few rotten eggs around!! You know how you have your clubs outside when you go into the pro shop to check in, shop, whatever? I have a hard time doing that because you just never know who could come along and just swipe your stuff. Granted, no one really wants a pink TaylorMade bag with purple clubs, but you can just never be too sure!!
  11. Very cool!! Way awesome, congrats :)
  12. Something similar happened to us as well. We were playing and on the green there was a wedge. We assumed it was the group in front of us, so we had caught up with them and he said that it was is. Well, when we were done, there was a guy asking people if they've found a wedge, and nope, it wasn't the same guy that we had given it to. That's just horrible, someone ended up getting a free wedge, but usually there are pretty cool people at the golf course, but of course there are those selected few. Bummer too...and this was on Thanksgiving day!! Needless to say, the guy we gave the wedge to was nowhere to be found or seen again!!
  13. ^Thanks for the advice :) This should really help!!
  14. I just have a hard time seeing breaks because the grass is so short, the green just looks the same haa haa! Breaks are where the green breaks?
  15. Any suggestions on how to do this accurately/better/more efficiently? Sometimes its easy for me to see breaks, but a lot of times I miss them and only see them after I've putt. I bend down towards the green to see the slope, but that's all that I know how to do, LOL!! And most of the time, its just pure luck that it goes in the cup. I'm not bad on my putting, its just hard to tell where the break will be, stuff like that. TIA
  16. Yeah, I've noticed this. If I use the same stroke as my PW or SW it doesn't get as far. I've yet to practice with it...Do you keep the face of the LW more open when using it?
  17. I do too haa haa Now when you go back to play the course a second time, you're somewhat familiar with it. I don't count the scores from first time courses...very bad!!
  18. I'm a country music gal by far, currently, its Christmas music, pleh, in the office!!
  19. That is THE BEST Christmas movie of all time!! If you want something lovey dovey, then "Its a Wonderful Life" it is!!
  20. oh no haa haa haa
  21. Reminds me of the World Series of Poker a few years ago where Jamie Gold one, he was just lucky!!
  22. I keep my front foot down as well. And even on the follow-through it stays put! Although...that's how I've been taught, so I'm sure its different for everyone!
  23. Palm Springs has some of the nice looking courses. Haven't played at any of them yet, waiting for the summer time when its MUCH cheaper, lol, but we went to a wedding at Cimarron Golf Course, it looked pretty, from the part that we could see in the dark anyways
  24. Thanks for the kind words everyone, and since I'm new to this whole golf thing, well, 5 months of playing every single week with weekly lessons as well, its just for fun and I shouldn't worry about how long it takes me. Golf is all about competing with yourself to improve and see how you do in a few weeks, a few months etc. Not about competing with other people, although, that'd be nice too. I've beaten my BF twice Sorry, off topic :)
