  1. My experience with simulators and launch monitors is that they tend to be a short for anyone that hits the ball high, and long for anyone that hits low screamers.
  2. I've always wanted to create shirts that have a "Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde golf team" emblem.
  3. I'm starting to feel like "The Cooler" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318374/ ) on the golf course. I've been golfing with a number of guys lately that I know can shoot rounds between 78-82 regularly but they are barely breaking 90 with me. This would be great if I were playing for money, but we’re just out for fun. It’s getting kind of frustrating because some rounds it seems like I end up subconsciously sympathy sucking. Anymore I would rather play by myself or get paired up with a group on the course that I could care less about. I feel like I’m missing out on the comradery of having a regular group along with having a group that helps grow each others game.
  4. I've discovered that the cure for me personally dealing with slow play is to accept it and walk the course. The extra time it takes me to walk to my golf ball versus racing to it on a cart is usually all it takes for slow groups to clear out, or at least make the wait more bearable. Nearly every time I rent a cart, I'm complaining about slow play.
  5. Ten years ago I was playing a small course in North Phoenix, and mistakenly hit someone else’s ball. When I got to where I had hit the ball I immediately realized it wasn’t mine and noticed the guy looking in the vicinity of where I hit. I quickly walked his ball back to him and apologized as much as I could, but he couldn’t help but get rude with me. He was still barking at me when while I turned around to walk away and I couldn’t’ take it anymore. I finally reminded him that golf is a gentleman’s game, and maybe boxing would be a more appropriate outlet for his angst if he can’t be a gentleman on the golf course. He didn’t take to kind to someone 10+ years his junior lecturing him about being a gentleman, but it ended there. 4 or 5 holes later our paths crossed again and he apologized for yelling, accepted my apology, and thanked me for putting the situation into perspective the way I did. Remember, Golf is a gentleman’s/woman’s game. I have to remind myself of that numerous times a season, but in the end the game and the people that play it deserve that respect.
  6. I couldn't see on your profile where you were from (didn't try to hard, and kind of a newbie here) . I'm from and grew up in South Dakota. If you want to score ridiculous wastes of land then maybe you want to look at hunting. $800 plus a day, and thousands of acres of land that will never be harvested for sport.
  7. I've had great luck with the tacki-mac grips that I have. They are the dual molded half chord. Great product and half the price of the comparable Golf Pride Decade Multicompound.
  8. I have an r9 t3 with mitsubishi fubuki (13 degrees) and a r9 4 with mitsubishi matore (17 degrees). They are the best feeling woods that I've ever had the pleasue of hitting. I always carry the 4, and depending on the length of the course I switch my driver out for the 3 wood.
  9. My putting has been terrible this year and I couldn't figure out if it was a severe alignment problem or a stroke problem. On the practice green I can usually diagnose that using two pencils and a string drill, but at home in the basement it's a bit harder. I found out that using my laser level to draw a line on the floor works great. Easily resolved that it wasn't alignment and was in fact a stroke problem and golfed the best nine hole round of my life last Sunday with only 13 putts and no three putts.
  10. I'm officially dumber for having read this thread.
  11. I play Avon MTx4 Jumbo grips. They work great in the high humidity summers that we have here.
  12. There's a local heated range that has a golf simulator. The combination of the two help to keep my swing in shape year round.
  13. Always remember - It's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
