Engineering Voodoo - Taylormade Superfast TP
bbedell replied to delav's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Can you elaborate on where you are finding this club for $200? I'm seeing it at $299 almost everywhere I look. -
Looking to possibly pick up a used Burner Superfast TP. I currently have an R7 limited with the Matrix Ozik Xcon 5.5 stiff shaft which is by far my favorite driver I've ever owned. It's getting a little old, and I've heard very good things about the Superfast TP, and since it has the option of the same shaft my current driver has I figured it may be a good fit. Anyone here have any experience with this driver? Good or bad things to say about it? I know the shaft on this bad boy is about 1/2 inch longer than my current driver (mine is 45.5", the Superfast TP is 46" stock) so I will probably end up cutting at least 1/2" off of it depending on how I hit it. Also, I've heard that the face on this driver is "slightly open". I've held one in my hands (never actually hit it) and could not tell the difference with my eyes. If anyone here has this driver and is looking to sell it, please let me know, otherwise I'll most likely be going with a few good deals that I've found on ebay. Thanks!

Taylormade Burner Superfast TP

The stock shaft is the Matrix Ozik right? I have the R7 limited right now which I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE and it has a Matrix Ozik 5.5 shaft. Thinking about picking up a Superfast TP for my next driver as it has this same shaft that I love and there are some good prices on this club out there right now. -
Let me know if you hear anything about these. I love my model 004, the grip feels great but the color could use a change.

Hybrid help!
bbedell replied to Lean, Mean, Hitting Machine's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
the new Cobra Baffler Rail H hybrids are getting OUTSTANDING reviews. IMO the hybrid department is one of Cobra's stronger areas as a company. I play a 2009 Baffler 19 degree right now and would not trade it for the world...the new models are even hotter. -
2010 CG15...no better wedge on the market, I own 2 of them. Although, I do have to say my sand wedge is a Mizuno which I really like also :)

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL THIS GUY IS STRAIGHT COMEDY. I almost want to place an order just to get this experience for myself! In the midst of this, he has called my cell phone multiple times saying things such as "I'm going to eat your mother's p####", "You should just go F### yourself", and "You should just go eat your mother's #####" sounds like something straight out of BORAT HAHAHAHAHA

These are currently giving me a boner :)

The often overlooked golf shoe, and why its worth investing in quality.
bbedell replied to DarkPrince's topic in Golf Talk
No offense, but requesting a return form and making a quick trip to the post office on my lunch break doesnt seem too inconvenient to me...maybe I'm alone here. Plus, my feet are relatively standard, almost all size 10's fit me perfectly...I'm not worried at all. -

Thanks, I hope so as well. This is my first spikeless pair, although my very first pair had the spikes worn down so much I doubt they made much of a difference. I'll post a little review after I get them and get to test them first hand -

I just pre-ordered up a pair of these: http://shop.truelinkswear.com/produc...ur-white-white From what I've heard/read from those who tested these before they were put on sale, they are RIDICULOUSLY comfortable. I like the fact that they get you closer to the ground and give you better feel/stability. Cant wait for my pair in the mail. -
anyone out there played one yet? Likes, dislikes? I see that it comes with two shaft options that are either a lower or higher launching shaft. I have the 9032LS currently and LOVE it so I'm looking forward to hitting the new one.

yeah, not looking to get rich, just wondering if I could make $80-100 profit or so to put towards a new wedge or something

found a good looking used set of these at Play-It-Again down the street from work during my lunch break. They are selling them for $199. I dont have the game to play these myself right now, but my question is does anyone think I could get a good return on investment from these if I bought them and then turned around and sold them? (I define good return as $100 or so). Thanks!

What Overton NEEDS to do is get himself some pants to wear on Sundays that arent white. The only thing white pants are good for is letting everyone watching know exactly when you crap your pants under the pressure.

Boom Boom without a doubt. He swings so smooth and effortlessly, yet PUNISHES the ball. I'd kill for that swing and length.
-
I picked one up slightly used off of eBay, and I have to say that I love it. I was playing an r7 Limited before. The ball flight with the 9032LS is slightly lower, but I am actually gaining a bit of distance as I felt that my ball flight before was a bit too high. I also downgraded from a stiff Ozik Matrix shaft in the TM to a regular Voodoo shaft in the Adams. I find that my misses are not nearly as severe (slices do not slice as much, hooks are not as bad). I cannot really tell the difference in the flex when swinging the club. Overall great club and I'd say pick one up for cheap if you can, esp with the new line of Adams drivers coming out soon.

thanks shanks, great insight

I recently picked up an Adams 9032LS driver. The stock shaft on this driver is 45.25" long. I have read so much on this forum and in other magazines about shorter driver shafts and am looking to get my shaft shortened to around 44.5". My question to others who have done his is how much of a difference did you notice in distance? Does 3/4 of an inch figure to reduce my driving yardage by a noticeable amount? Thanks for any help.

Yeah at first it is very weird. However, I found that the more I watch his swing the more comfortable I get with it and the more it makes sense. I watched the Golf in America piece on him the other day, and one thing I noticed is how much darn power and speed he gets out of that swing on the way down. His takeaway is weird (almost like furyk) and very slow, and then his actual forward swing is just an explosion. One thing is for sure, i wish I could hit the ball like that guy. Also, I dont feel like he used it all in up college. He won the Wyndham, and has had a bunch of top 10s and good showings since then. No big wins, but he seems to quietly perform in the big events, definitely flies below the radar

Does it also seem silly to jump on a guy and tell him to "get his vision checked" b/c he expresses his opinion about a putter? Maybe that's normal around here, in which case I guess I joined the wrong forum. didnt say I didnt like mallets. My last putter was a mallet and I liked it just fine. I dont like the appearance of the Corza - and as I said before, appearance is a big thing for me as far as inspiring confidence in my putter. That is all. And I think the Method is overpriced as well, that's why I only bought it with a $100 discount. However, overpriced, built in China, or not it is an awesome putter and has the best feel of any putter I've ever laid my hands on. And yes, who cares.
-
I did read - every reply before mine in fact - and I couldn't care less how you feel about the putter. The fact is, as a rounded mallet style putter, compared to my BLADE putter it appears very large and clunky to me - COMPARATIVELY is the key word here. And the fact remains I have perfect vision, thanks.

http://www.lostgolfballs.com/TaylorM...ategory_id/101 Well, that was pretty easy. -
Are you 12? 20/20 vision with no corrective lenses/contacts here bud. Sorry if I insulted your favorite putter or something.

how about my boy Ryan Moore though? Did he win any more fans among you guys with his play in this tournament? I may be among the minority here, but I LOVE watching this guy play. He plays so loose and almost like he doesnt care, I just think it's fun to watch.
