  1. It will be a fun US Open. Glad the family is back together.
  2. If its true its a smart move. If a LIV player wins the US Open then the PGA will seem to have the less talented players. Koepka may have made this possible.
  3. Awesome!!
  4. It was a good day because the lead didnt get above -6, Very glad Hovland won. It is so aggravating to see a one week wonder that cant miss anything win. -7 is a good winning score. Jack should design all courses.
  5. I dont write them all down. Lots where they play from another fairway. Today was a good day at the Memorial. Lead ended at -6. Even Rahm has a chance now.
  6. I tied you but for me a great round on the Newport News public course. 89 was awesome.
  7. 60 yards
  8. From what i just heard on the golf channel magically the course got softer overnight and now its a boring birdie fest. The players had a pissy fit and once again the course was altered to satisfy egos. As far as rough around the greens if players thought thick rough lining greens and fairways would make them score better they would be crying for it.
  9. I want the best players to have to figure out how to make a par. That to me is far more exciting than to have every hole a birdie hole. Also, its incredibly boring when its coming down to the last few holes but you know none of them are difficult and its unlikely the leader will stumble. Thats fine if an offline shot is penalized severely but far too often hitting it 60 yards offline finds nothing but a good place to play from.
  10. It doesnt matter how far offline a shot goes if there is no penalty for it. Here are several things i would do to adjust courses to the explosion in equipment technology. No more 535 yard par 5's. Any par 5 has to be 600+ yards, any other gets converted to a long par 4. Reduce chicken sticking. If you have a 410 yard par 4 make the layup landing area extremely narrow with the very narrow fairway lined with deep rough and deep bunkers. Make hitting driver the best option. Eliminate lift clean and cheat and in any drop never allow a player to place the ball. If the ball happens to land slightly closer to the pin, so be it. I have other ideas, especially for improving the playoff.
  11. Mainly because when i turned on the golf channel the leader wasnt -10 after the first round. The problem with errant tee shots on most courses now is that with the lack of trees and rough means an errant tee shot is often not penalized. These are the best in the world. They should be tested every week. Also, a difficult course tends to weed out fluke winners.
  12. Finally looks like a decent test of golf. Let the rough grow, and pray it doesnt rain to soften things up.
  13. Im well aware of that. But if LIV players were to win 2 of the 1st 3 and finish 2nd in the other then the question arises which league has the better players.
  14. The PGA might have a bit of a problem if Koepka or another LIV player wins the US Open. Dustin Johnson is due to play well, One guy on the golf channel was saying he didnt think Koepka should be on the Ryder cup. The man who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2 majors so far not on the team?
  15. Koepka is feared. Best in golf right now.
  16. they said it on tv. ITS Kiddie golf these are crybabies who cant stand up to a test of skill looks like more putt putt today. Disgrace to golf
  17. players cried so they put pins in bowls, moved up tees. Hope they all tie at 50 under
  18. My point is he is playing for money, not for fun.
  19. Justin Thomas blasts LIV golfers: 'Have the balls to say I'm doing this for the money' Justin Thomas said he would have more respect for golfers who were honest about why they joined the LIV. Just curious. If the PGA announced the players would be playing for free from now on would Saint Justin show up to play? Im pretty sure he is playing for big prize money and super big endorsement money.
  20. It looks to me they gave the rough a haircut last night and so far the greens dont seem to be a challenge at all. Im seeing an awful lot of birdies. It also looks like they put alot of pins in bowls so hitting the green means a short putt. To compensate for the equipment improvement they need much narrower fairways and very very narrow fairways with very high rough where a player might be tempted to chicken stick a hole. Force driver on every hole except the par 3's.GEEZ, a 59 today? To be fair i imagine the women dont command as high ad rates.
  21. I wish you were right and the winning score ends up no better than -3
  22. They are no better than 40 years ago. The equipment is better. The USGA officials have failed to adjust. The fairways are too wide, rough too short, too many holes are so short you can chicken stick them, and this course was totally gale force wind dependent to appear "tough". Im sorry, but a final round birdie fest just isnt worthy.
  23. They wont be 4 under at 7pm. This is an embarrassment. It seems to cater to the players they went the opposite of what they should and shortened the course quite a bit. I have a feeling Watson wont be so generous when this very easy round is over. Sadly, his comments were based on yesterday. All im seeing are birdies today. -10 winning score isnt worthy of a once proud tradition.
  24. I just tuned in and the course is a joke. Way too easy for a US Open. I dont know if they are afraid of the players but as Tom Watson said even par should be the winning score at a US Open. Its too embarrassing so they never show you players being able to tee up fairway shots but are they playing lift, clean and cheat today? And thats what Feherty called it. One day it will actually be played on a hard course.
  25. Way too easy for a US Open. Not worthy. Thank God they only have 2 par 5's or scores would even be lower.
