so i got a chance to go to the golf shop and hit some clubs, the FT.....FT-iZ.....R9 loooved the FT felt great and solid off the tee AND i actually hit some further off the mat than off the tee, which never happens
-
was wondering if anyone had tips on polishing the top part of drivers and woods whats the best way of getting rid of those darn ball marks?? who hits the ball on the top of their club anyway?! haha
-
im actually looking for a wood as well have some points to redeem on my credit card good to hear about the FT tho since thats one of the options the other ones are: FT-iZ R9 Mx-700 909F2/F3 anyone have any experiences with any of those? btw i have the R5 dual 3 wood and thats impossible to hit off the turf (well at least for me)

i found this one tee called www.4yardsmore.com while playing i hated constantly breaking my tees but have been playing the same one for the past month or so plus it helps me tee up to the same height every time
-
what do you guys do before playing a round? do you hit some balls at the range? if so, do you go through all your clubs? most days, i get to the course just in time to stretch a little bit and go on the putting green thats it... i know this kills me b/c i usually hit soo much better on the back 9 than the front 9 so im curious what everyone normally does!

yea, i have a feeling my driver tempo is slightly different on the course but at the range i try all different things but the ball still gets up in terms of tee height i try to get it the same height so not sure if its that could moving my head up early or laterally be a big factor in these grounders?

so i dont really know how to explain this.... when i practice hitting my driver at the range its pretty decent. i dont try to smash it but rather just making solid contact. i mean dont get me wrong i have some huge slices here and there. but at least i get the ball in the air most of the time. BUT when it comes to teeing off on the course i have this problem of constantly hitting the ball low and to the left, almost like a grounder (no lift!!!). im not the type to really get nervous or try to hit it harder b/c people are watching - i just like having fun out there, at least for now. so what can explain the big difference in getting the ball UP in the air from the range and outside? different posture b/c the grass is softer and uneven? tendency to lift my head up since its outdoors? i dont know.... please help me!

-
thanks for all the tips!! this is the first time ive recorded my swing its amazing how much you can pick up
-
you know whats funny, i dont do this when i hit my irons but i lose all sense of form when i hit my driver didnt realize to what extent my left leg pretty much looks like jello ill definitely concentrate on keeping it more stable
-
that might actually be the camera angle b/c thats one of the first things i setup with

got a video of my driver today for the life of me cannot hit it consistently in a round what do you guys think??
-
oh wow i really like the looks of those esp in white! have you walked a round in them do they feel narrow in the front at all
-
oh boy... was hitting pretty well at the range over the winter was getting comfortable hitting most of my clubs BUT played my first 18 yesterday and what a difference! forgot what it was like hitting off fresh grass in the open air lost all sense of orientation and everything i practiced for a swing ended up just trying to "hit" the ball, arrrgh anyway, it was great to be back on the course no matter how bad welcome back spring

ive always used the stock shafts that come with the clubs but i always hear people talking about their preferences for different shafts so i was wondering what difference do shafts really make on your game ball flight? swing speed? anything else?? please fill me in...

New Game Improvement Irons...
abraxas replied to mhenrickson's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i was in your exact situation about a year ago. slowly started replacing the hand-me-downs one by one. when it came to the irons i hit a bunch of them at the store and picked up a used set (you can also get them off ebay, prolly for a better deal). i ended up getting the g10s simply because i couldnt tell the difference between them and the g15s, not worth the extra money. anyway, people have told me not to worry about getting a new set and getting fitted until i can hit consistently and develop a dynamic swing, if that ever happens, haha! -
great tips...thanks!

just wondering in what situations do you use either wedge? besides obviously the distance... currently have a pitching wedge and a 56 debating if i should pick up a 52

woah 10 balls... thats awesome i wish my dad played golf - seems like such a great bonding experience to play together but anyway, dunno how many balls i carry around but probably adds the most weight for me! better that than running out of balls, uggh

haha this thread is awesome! i dont feel so alone anymore... i have to laugh at myself when my 2nd putt is farther away then my 1st putt i think its def the hardest part to improve since you cant practice unless youre on the course as opposed to working on your swing at the range

yes youre absolutely right! when or how do you start your downswing?
