Shooting at the middle of the green?
Ktrap replied to ronaldkuntoro's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Middle of the green always, your more likely to make a long birde putt than a chip in (unless your Phil Mickleson) which I'm not..!! lol -
What kind of grip do you prefer on your putter?
Ktrap replied to adamgoodman's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have tried them all, regular, mid size and jumbo. I use regular (Odyssey Tempest) I found I have much better feel, especialy on long puts. -
what do you chip with from 10-20 yards out?
Ktrap replied to Dr. Slice's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I use the Nick Price method..if you dont have to go over anything get the ball rolling asap, unless there's little green to work with, than my 56*... -
I use 3 little dots right under the number 2 than one below..I've never came across any other ball marked this way..

How to chose golf gloves
Ktrap replied to wildcorndog's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
The only difference is the synthetic is maybe a little thicker compared to leather, so you would get better feel with leather. -
Hey guys, so when your set up at address does the toe point up at all on the irons? Mine do and I was thinking my angle was off, but I went and had them checked on the impact board and they were all pretty much dead center on the sole. It just seems a little weird as my old set seems a little flatter at address but same impacts (had them checked last year)...

How to chose golf gloves
Ktrap replied to wildcorndog's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
If it's really sweaty (only summer months) I'll let it air out for a touch, but No it doesn't accelerate the rate at which it breaks down. Think about it, what would break down faster leather that goes from moist to dry moist to dry over and over or leather that always stays moist (and I'm not talking sweaty moist) How many times have you put your glove on again next round and it's a little hard or crusty at first? With the baggie the leather doesn't dry out, it always stays fresh like new. I actually saw this from Tiger, was watching something years ago and saw him pull a glove out of zip lock baggie. Give it a try you'll be suprised..! -
Yea I saw that too, I've read tons and of instruction and playing tips and never once have I seen this, well put like that. Gonna try that next trip to the range, after all we could all use more accuracy right?

Great point, that's why I always use a zip loc baggie to keep mine in (the big freezer ones so you dont have to fold the glove in half) makes your gloves last alot longer..!! -

Correct me if I'm wrong but that is a synthetic leather glove right? Obviously those are going to wear better than real leather. I used to use one for practice just because of that reason, but always game a real leather glove. To the OP just wear what ever feels best, and be be sure to try them all on if buying more than one at a time, just because it says it's the same size doesn't mean it's gonna fit the same. -
Not sure if you ment 1" to short? or 1" to long? either way if too short you can put an exension like hokie 2k5 said or cut an 1" off..which I did to mine 1 1/2" actually..and I found no problem's...

One thing I noticed is you have very little hip turn..look at the pick above at the top of you swing your hips dont look like they moved a bit from square, think if you worked on using your hips more it might help sync everything up? jus my .02

Taylormade TP Red Vs TP Black /gereral ball flight question
Ktrap replied to 2bGood's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
So then would the red's be better for distance because they don't spin as much? or still the blacks as with the original's pre LDP. -
I noticed with the driver it goes across the line at the top pointing right of the target, I would suggest trying to shorten your swing a touch, as well with the wedge, you will be alot more consistant..jus my .02

Overlap vs Interlock vs Baseball Grips
Ktrap replied to mcflynn's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Ok so I tried the overlap today at the range..took a little bit to get used too and let me say I think I like it better..after using it about 3/4 of a bucket switched back to inter-lock and it didn't feel as comfortable..! which kinda blew me away since that's all I've ever used since I started this crazy game..like 15 yrs now..!! I do agree with MikeLowry5 as well I don't think that inter-lock helps with the hook as much as overlap does (I tend to pull my shot's when off) and didn't seem as bad with the overlap and I was better with the driver as well, straighter..!! -
Tips..Drills for kepping left arm straight??
Ktrap replied to Ktrap's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
No the club doesn't pass parallal but with the driver it does cross the line because the arm is bent too much, so I will be working on this next trip to the range..thanks guys -
Overlap vs Interlock vs Baseball Grips
Ktrap replied to mcflynn's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Same here My dad taught me how to play when I started so that's what I used..Actually I use overlap when I chip or have short pitches, basicly use a putting stroke on them I get more feel and better distance control. It never occured to me to try overlap with the full swing untill the other day when I heard the TV guys talking about Sergio switching to inter-loc from overlap..they said he would lose some power with his swing because the inter-lock is not so handsy and he has tremendous lag. So I'm gonna give it a try after work today at the range.. -
Hey guys, does anyone know of some good tips or drills I can work on to keep my left arm straight?? I just took some video of myself today for the first time and noticed I have a bend at the top of my swing, more so with the driver compared to iron. Now I know it's not mandatory for it to be perfectly straight the whole swing but I none the less would like to work on it. I do get it back to dead straight on impact. thanks in advance

I'm curious is to how many people use what grip? I myself use Inter-lock and have since day one. Also has anyone used both? and which do they like better? pro's con's?? I seen that Serigo has switched to inter-lock and the guys on tv said he would lose a little power because the swing is not so handsy? So if that's the case could you gain more power by switched to overlap? PS. figured I'd post this on here since the majority of us are on this Forum. -
Question for those of you with back problems...
Ktrap replied to tws1098's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'm in the same boat I have a degenerated disc in my L4, I injured it back in Feb. shovling snow..! Chiropractor is really the only thing that has helped (Thank god I have insurance) I would recomend that as well as the one poster said building up the muscle's around it. -
I have one, and have used it and to be honest didn't really notice any difference, plus it's kind of a pain in the a**, because it puts a mark all the way around the ball (which I didn't dig) so then I have to get some mineral spirits and remove all but a small line.

I do have a 5 wood but just dont hit it like I want to, like I said in my OP I hit my long irons well, my 3 is 21* and I usually hit it @ 200-210 and I think the hybrid would have more accuracy as opposed to just distance.
