  1. Spoken like a typical stiff. The only reason marijuana involves illegal trafficking and support of the criminal enterprize is because it's illegal. If they would legalize it, people could grow it themselves or sell it in stores like cigarettes and there would be no reason to traffic it. As for being a stepping stone, alcohol will do that just as easily. I smoked pot for years and never ever thought of touching anything else. 3 thoughts..... 1. Number of deaths from drinking too much alcohol last year......more than one Number of deaths from smoking too much weed in the history of time....ZERO 2. It''s not only stoner's who are arguing its legality. I haven't smoked in years..... 3. Marijuana is no different than other drugs? Weed grows from the ground, God's earth....Meth, cocaine, etc are manufactured and cut with dangerous chemicals....
  2. So is speeding, which is probably more dangerous than marijuana as well..........I'm just saying, if you think about some of the things we ARE allowed to do, it's ridiculous to think that marijuana shouldn't be legal....
  3. HAHA what a bunch of fools. I guess it depends if it was good natured ribbing or if they were truly upset. If they would refuse to place a wager with you because of the clubs you play, then that is truly pathetic and they need to grow up.....
  4. It's stupid when people lump weed into a group with drugs like meth, cocaine and whatnot. Weed is much safer than even alcohol, nobody ever died from smoking too much weed. I don't ever drink and drive, but in the highest I have ever been I would have been a better driver than I would be even after only 2-3 beers. It may not be healthy but there are plenty of things people do that ruin their health. That includes things like bad diets, not exercising, etc. I quit smoking because of the cost, but it's something that definitely NEEDS to be legalized, and I'm sure it will be at some point in time. If it was legal it would be more affordable and think about how important tobacco and alcohol sales are to the economy....BOOM...Roasted...
  5. For the most part I agree, they get me thinking to much and expecting the training aid to swing the club for me. However, I currently have 2 training aids in my bag that have helped me TONS over the past two years and cost me a total of $15. I have a set of tour sticks and one of those Izzo Swing Aids that helps reduce the flying elbow(same as the Haney Perfect Form). I don't use the Izzo thing as often as the tour sticks, but I pull it out when my swing starts feeling out of whack and it usually does the trick after a range session or 2. Couldn't live without them.... There are some other aids I'd like to try, but there's no way I'm shelling out $100+ for an Inside Down The Line Putting Aid.....
  6. If your transition from a GI club to a blade, your avg distance will go down only because you won't hit the sweet spot as consitantly.
  7. Yes, but I think all sports are like that too. I've had a number of different baseball coaches over the years. There were a few drills that every baseball coach does, but every coach I had ran a drill that none of the other coaches did. They all ran practices differently and emphasized different parts of the game. Same thing isn't it?
  8. Really? Can someone explain to me how baseball players do those cool bat flips after they jack one?
  9. The point of my post was that many amateurs don't realize how far 300 yards is. Luke Donald only averages like 278 yards off the tee(I think that's what I heard). I believe that you can hit the ball a long way, and it may feel like 300 yards, but I guarantee you it's not...
  10. I know it's not a premium ball, but I think the Nike PD soft's are the best ball for the money. I don't go through a ton of balls(1 per 18 holes is about average for me, I'll throw it out from being too beat up before I lose one) so most of the time I'll spend the extra money and get NXT tours, but I'm a big fan of the PD's. IMO, unless your trying to make money playing golf, you have no need for a $40-50/dozen ball....
  11. 1. You do not drive the ball 320 2. If your looking for forgiveness, stay away from tour models. 3. Since you "claim" to drive the ball 320, I would suspect that you at least have a good amount of swing speed, so your probably looking at something with 9* or so loft and a stiff shaft. If you really want to get serious about golf though, go get properly fitted for a driver. The shaft is the most important aspect. Not just the flex, but you have to think about weight, kickpoint, length, etc. That's why getting properly fitted is so important....
  12. It wouldn't affect your motor skills, hand eye coordination, and whatnot the next day. If your not used to it, you could definitely feel "burnt out" or a little weighed down the next day which could certainly affect concentration...
  13. YES YES YES! Most people don't go out to a restraunt by themselves, but if you did, they wouldn't make you sit with another family....
  14. I say your wrong. Golf is taught just as consistantly as any other sport. Creating the "lag" in the swing, hitting the ball before the ground, inside swing path, proper club release, etc....all of those things are key fundamentals in a good golf swing.
  15. I never hit my driver at the range. I feel like it's easier to work on swing mechanics with shorter clubs. The more repetition I do with longer clubs, the more my swing gets out of whack. Every so often I will hit a few 3 woods or 5 woods, but it's mostly irons when I'm at the range, and never a driver. Go figure, driving was the most consistent part of my game last year....
  16. Wow, looking at your set makes me feel bad. I just "upgraded" to a set of Ping I3+ irons and a 907D1 driver.
  17. I've never carried a 3 iron because I've always had a 5 wood. I recently replaced my 4 iron with a hybrid and it has helped a lot. I didn't have much confidence with a 4 iron and didn't use it enough to gain confidence. The hybrid is just all around easier to hit.
  18. What!? At 4 bucks a bucket I spend $30 at the range in 3 weeks! There's one course around me that offers range balls with their memberships, unfortunately I can't afford the $1k membership fee...
  19. Two things: 1. 150 balls in an hour!? That seems like a lot to me. It takes me a good 30-45 minutes to get through a 45 ball bucket.... 2. I envy you guys who always hit balls before you tee it up. Maybe once or twice a season I will hit balls before I play. 2 things prevent me from doing this. Golf is expensive enough as it is, the cost of an extra 3-4 dollars every time I play would really add up over the course of a season. Second, I just don't have that kind of time. I'm lucky enough that my wife lets me golf basically whenever I feel like it, I don't want to tempt fate by spending even more time at the course. To combat this, my buddies and I have a rule. We don't hit balls before we play, so if necessary, we allow ourselves a "redo" on the first tee shot. I don't consider it cheating since the round hasn't really started yet. I would never take a mulligan or gimme putt in the middle of a round, but my concience is clean on this one. I am curious to see what the rest of you think though?
  20. You might want to take a look at the Ping G10's. They are forgiving, have a progressive offset, and they are an older model so they can be had reasonably. You could find a set on Ebay for 300 I bet, or you can get the G10 XG's(conforming grooves) through Golfsmith's custom fitting center for $62/club.
  21. What Snake Eyes putter are you using? I used a Tour Platinum for a period of time last year and kind of regret getting rid of it. It rolled the ball differently than any putter I've tried. It was almost like the ball stuck to the ground as it was rolling....
  22. Got my scotty in mint condition for 150. A 300 dollar putter for a reasonable price...
  23. Ever since I took the factory grip off a couple of my putters, and the scotty I recently picked up didn't have the stock grip on it, I haven't been able to get a putter grip on any of my putters the way I like it. For some reason it always feels crooked. Part of it is just my mind, I've put some on and for the first day or so they feel good. All of a sudden I will start to look at it and it will feel too closed or too open. I decided to put a normal round golf grip on one of my putters and see how it felt. My putting stroke doesn't feel all that different, but it feels a lot easier setting up to the ball. Is this logical or am I going to run into problems with this?
