  1. There is absolutely nothing wrong with those clubs nor are they outdated. Just last season I bought the 2008 Callaway X 3 wood and X wedge brand new. As long as the length, lie, and shaft flex are correct you should be all set. You might want to regrip because of age and to just make them more personal. Give them a good cleaning too!
  2. Was the crowd just yelling "Tiger whooooooo?" at 15 after Rory hit?
  3. I am not a fan of hybrids. I do own one but it still looks brand new since I can't hit the thing. There is a school of thought (of which I subscribe to) that says iron swings and wood swings are different. Well I can't hit a hybrid with either swing and I'm not going to try and work on a third so I'll stick with my current setup (in my signature). Outside of my wedges I think that my 9 wood is the most versatile club in my bag. I can have an easy go at it and softly land at 160 or really step on it and get 185. It's also the most accurate FW I've ever owned. I really wish Ping, Callaway, Titleist, etc would bring back the 9 wood, even the 11 wood. It's possible seeing the resurgence lately of 7 woods.
  4. Yes, 3-6pm I believe
  5. I'm well aware of the loft strengthening but how are the lie angles any different. Is a Ping eye2 black dot lie angle different from a Ping G15 black dot lie angle?
  6. I don't know if you already bought a new driver but I have just recently put my R11 in the back up bag and pulled out my old Ping G10. For me the Ping is far more reliable when my swing is just so-so. I bought it used at Golfsmith for $75, new grip $4 and added a little lead tape to the bottom. When buying used you get so much more club for your money and you don't feel as guilty spending the cash. You also don't feel the need to sell or trade in your old club and can afford to have a really nice backup.
  7. I really like the coverage on tv today. I don't ever remember any sporting event being showed on 2 different networks at the same time. Not that I dislike golf commercials, but keeping up with the leaders and the signature holes at the same time is a neat concept.
  8. There is only one "perfect" putter, it might be made by Scotty Cameron or it might be made by Zevo. Only you can find that out. Spend an hour several different times trying out every putter you can. Scottys are indeed works of art and I would love to own a Del Mar but it would never leave the house since I don't want to scuff it up and it's still the wrong one for my game. Over the last few years I have acquired 5 different putters yet I keep coming back to my 20 year old Ping B60. My putter is really one of a kind and it is the right one for me. I have had it tweaked for length, loft, weight and grip all by a professional clubmaker and putting instructor. Now all that being said I will set aside my own advice and demo the new Ping Nome when it's released since it just might be my "more perfect" putter.
  9. I've had that mount on my Sun Mtn Speed Cart for over a year now. No problems, works great and the umbrella holder still works. GPS is very secure because the nub on the back actually snaps in so you have to manually release a lever. It is also surprisingly durable too. Last season I let my cart go down a long hill by itself, hit some kind of debris and bottomed out on the GPS/handle area without damage and GPS stayed secured.
  10. Really??? What the hell does Rush, politics, or dittoheads have to do with Tiger or the longer putters? This is supposed to be a golf discussion, take your leftist politics somewhere else.
  11. I couldn't agree more. Do they interrupt basketball games to show golf highlights? I seriously doubt it.
  12. My favorite shot is still the lateral sand wedge he hit on #5 this morning. I love seeing that the pros are just as capable as us at hitting horrendous shots.
  13. Thank you. That was more informative than anything I have found on the web all day. Now I just need to keep telling myself NO MORE GOLF CLUBS!
  14. I was curious about Hunters new putter so I wandered over to the Ping website. It looks like they have not updated the WITB section of staff players in 2 or 3 years. What an opportunity lost for Ping.
  15. shankapotomous!
  16. Battle of the Pings! Does anyone think that a players club choices/endorsement/sponsorship influence the golfing public?

  18. Eric, don't take my complaint so personal. I'm just saying that there is something with this site that causes difficulty for my computer. In another thread I posted a link to a video at the Golf Channel that I could view without any hickups or delay at all. Don't you think that print alone should load faster and operate smoother than a site with video and flash running? It sounds like I'm in the minority and will try a new browser, just not Chrome.
  19. With a long putter no less!
  20. This was the "State of the Game" program discussing the long putter/anchoring segment. Nicks remark came at the 18:05 mark. I found the video here: http://www.golfchannel.com/media/golf-central-friday-february-24-2012-state-of-the-game-tiger-woods/
  21. Nope, it's Michelle Wie.
  22. While I realize that using a 10 year old computer can sometimes present a challenge on the web, however, TST is the worst offender I've come across, ever. I'm running firefox with adblock, flashblock and noscript yet I have to close my browser and restart every 30-45 minutes I'm here because something with the site causes firefox to just crawl. The only script I allow is "yahooapis", since without it the site simply will not work with firefox. At its worst it can take 20-30 seconds to load a forum page. It's very frustrating and specific to this site for some reason.
  23. Did anybody see Faldo teasing Johnny Miller about poor putting due to being a headcase last night? I thought it was pretty damn funny!
  24. You were saying...?
  25. Now that's more like it, from last to a tie for 4th!
