  4. Another quick picture demonstrating some of the correct principals golf swings should abide by.... For more pictures, I post many on my Facebook page Facebook.com/MoradMan or find me on twitter.com/hirshfield
  5. I'd like to reiterate what Mike said. Club slipping (unless extreme circumstances) is a biproduct of a poorly structured grip. If you "shot" a nail directly through the top of your wrist (in that little indentation underneath your thumb - the anatomical snuffbox ) the nail should come out directly through the bottom of your wrist and into the GRIP. Most poor grips would have the nail come out the bottom of the wrist and miss the grip on the left side. This would indicate the wrist joint not sitting ON the grip. This would assist in early club head throw away as when the club is accelerating in the downswing, the wrist joint can't support the downward force of the club. In my honest opinion, this is an imperative to good golf, understanding how to hold the club correctly. SO many faults start from there....
  6. Here's some quick stuff Constantine (jetfan83) and I did yesterday Some mapping work to produce results. Changes take time, dedication, work and enjoyment. Having a conceptual understanding doesn't mean you have a physical command of the movement pattern. Procedures take time, but old moves can and WILL go away, just like some of the changes seen here! Well done Constantine and what a blast getting to see ya
  7. Id like to see video obviously, but chances are your extending too early with your weight back. So. In downswing, move all your weight forwards and open fast. Key piece here is to actually try n feel like you INCREASE your forward bend like Tiger. Hit a couple of balls actually LOWERING your upper center as you shift forward and open Let me know how it goes. Lots of other variables and you might not hit the shot SHAPE you want but contact should improve.
  8. A lot of this is dependent on your setup alignments and position of your elbows. Even if you "choose" a stroke that makes the putter head move on an arc, if u had a laser pointing out the bottom of the shaft, it should trace a straight line. even MORE important that any of these principles is understanding absolute and relative rotation. In otherwords the head moving independently to the path, or the putter head "opening and closing" because it's on an arc. These are super important concepts to become a great putter.

  10. This would be slightly too much for a 6 iron. I would ever want to see more than 110* even max with a driver. It will shift the baseline more to the right and complicate the sequencing into the downswing for an inline patter.
  11. For a half day school, the agenda would look like this. 8:45 – 9:00: Quick Video Capture of your swing. 9:00 – 9:45: Discussion and introduction to 5 Simple Keys: the Proven things that ALL great ball strikers have in common...Q&A.; 9:45 – 12:45: Hitting balls to incorporate your priority piece. 12:45 – 1:00: Wrap up, Short game, Q/A For the 1/2 day school, I ideally limit it to 3 people for MAXIMUM personal instruction time .
  12. Hi Guys, As we keep getting closer to June, start to mention some dates that could be potentially suitable for you both. I'd also like to say, I can teach clinics/schools ANYDAY if that is more convenient for you. Our "retail" price is $495 for a full 1-day school, including lunch; and $295 for a 1/2 day, from 9-1, or 2-6.... For SandTrap members, I'm excited to give a special rate $395 for full 1-day; and $245 for 1/2 day. Remember!!!! I'm more than happy and able to teach half days either in the morning, or afternoon, so if you want to bring a buddy, or your partner / children, let me know and I can tailor costs. I look forward to seeing you soon! Great golfing! James
  13. Very kind words guys You've been doing brilliant work with Brian, and I'm proud to be part of such a great team. If you're not able to get to see a qualified 5SK instructor, I would highly recommend evolvr to start to build the foundation of a repeatable swing. Just remember.... what we say, is going to often feel COMPLETELY alien to you, and that is GOOD, that means you are building awareness of where your body and club is in space around you (proprioception.) If you can go in front of a mirror and perform BOTH extremes of whatever you are working on, that is truly the art of practicing and will help build a golf swing for the future. James
  14. Hi Everyone! Looking to put together a golf school / clinic sometime towards end of June. If you can all decide when would be the best date to fit the majority of golfers here at TST I can set something up. I'll let you guys figure out the best potential date or even dateS. The format will be close to as follows: 9:00 – 9:30: Quick Video Capture of your swing. 9:30 – 10:30: Discussion and education about the PureStrike 5 Simple Keys: the Proven things that ALL great ball strikers have in common...Q&A.; 10:30 – 12:30: Hitting balls to incorporate your priority piece. 12:30 – 1:30: Lunch and and review changes you’ve already made. 1:30 – 4:30 Continued work on range with implementation of drills and Pitching instruction. 4:30 – 5:00-ish: Wrap up, Before and After pics and videos, Q&A; Enjoy and look forward to seeing some of you soon. James
  15. This is where the hip slants get really important and how it relates to the wrist angles and ultimately face issues and SD. If the hips flatten too fast and tuck, the left arm trajectory gets shifted out too much at 6. As a golfer, to shallow the AOA and have a rightward SD, the wrist angles need to dump early causing contact issues. The handle can then start lowering through the hit causing two way misses, and retards the speed the golfer can thrust inhibiting speed. Great work Mike, keep it up. Everyone should also take note of the SPEED he is practicing to ingrain the motion the FASTEST. Do the BORING stuff on the range, so you can have FUN on the course! James
  16. Yes definitely much more of a feeling. Think about where your belly button is at setup.... Then as you transfer the weight forward in the downswing, get the elbow to where the belly button was at setup. Which is obviously now more forward than where the elbow was at setup. The key piece as mike demonstrated is making sure the elbow doesn't start internally rotating too fast (palm down) ... .... And actually is gradual straightening (lowering the arms) so the upper center doesn't start moving back. This type of "Sergio" lag is referred to as "accumulator lag" as you can have varying amounts but still have "lag pressure" at the ball. Ala Steve stricker etc
  17. Excellent post Mike. Here in an example of the "types" of lag, in particular the sequencing and its effect on the sweetspot path and clubface orientation.
  18. BIG TIME OFFER Seeing as I know it's MUCH more fun playing with your buddies and having good games..... If you refer just 4 clients, then YOUR next lesson... is on ME... FREE How is THAT for loyalty. See you all soon!!
  19. Yes. All outdoors in the beautiful sun, hitting off grass. Of course hi speed video is used with understanding of how and why the ball flies
  20. Thank you for the really kind words! I thought I'd throw up a couple of pictures of some of the work already for you guys to see
  21. Hahaha, yes guys and gals, I'm still on Evolvr! Really excited being here, and already starting to get schools on the schedule.

  23. A few things. 1) This is pure data and findings from MANY different force plate systems and goes to show how careful one must be when reading data and applying technology. 2) We will NEVER stop researching, questioning and exploring what we teach. We don't believe the studying ever stops. If something comes out that puts what we have into question, we embrace it, explore it, study it, test it and if its correct, apply it. It's not about being right or wrong. 3) I want to SERIOUSLY emphasize, that this doesn't mean we are teaching people to feel like they SHIFT to the right, then SHIFT forward... Though it may seem LOGICAL that to increase the pressure right as in these videos, one would move their "body" to the right; the way the PRESSURE is increasing is because of the CHANGE IN KNEE FLEX. I hope everyone enjoys these videos, we have been finding it very enlightening and as mentioned before, explains lots of other things noticed in other pressure plate data. James Ps. For those still trying to 'draw' the ball.... notice how grants trace moves not only LATERALLY, but from right rear to left forward. Ie, diagonally forward. Sometimes this visual can be good for hitting certain shots... and you'd find most SLICERS weight goes right TOE to left HEEL too fast.... this should explain why the 'banking' of the right foot is important as well as the left knee flex to move the weight "cross linear"
  24. Hey Guys, This topic actually goes a little deeper than just longer clubs vs shorter clubs. longer clubs need to be categorized as shots off the turf, or on a tee, such as the driver. Don't be fooled by feet alignment. Many of the best golfers in the world have the right foot pulled back, or have slightly closed hips at setup. It helps assist the turning component in the backswing and swinging enough to the right, especially for a driver if the golfer is choosing to hit UP on it... That is also an important question... is the golfer not hitting it far enough, and hitting up will optimize the numbers??? well then there needs to be changes to the mechanics of the swing to still swing out enough. Dana Dahlquist did a brilliant video of Robert Rock, and went over some very important address pieces, such as the amount on ankle, knee and hip flexion. It's also important to remember, that sometimes, "uncomfortable" isn't a bad thing, its just that you're not used to it... The distance away from the ball becomes important in dictating what type of shot you're looking to hit. Further away for push and draw swings, as it has the arms hang more outward and raises the handle... closer to the ball has the arms more downward and lowers the handle, helping shift the swing more leftward. In an ideal world,I believe we would flight the short clubs lower, and long clubs higher, but lets be realistic, we dont have time , money, or energy to learn exactly how to do all of these, though there are simple ways to do all of it. But i strongly believe Driver adjustments are necessary if you're looking to optimize launch monitor numbers.
