  1. sorry guys, I feel like I'm a good putter as a lot of the balls that end up short because they start bouncing early in the putt, are actually on line. I don't plan on changing my stroke at all. Where should I go though? Living in a small town makes it really tough to get the right information. Edwin Watts maybe?
  2. I often leave putts short due to the ball bouncing early in the putt. I putt crosshanded with my hands VERY far back. Think opposite of the forward press. Should I have the putter delofted?
  3. I'm currently working on TURNING the hips in the backswing and SLIDING the hips in the downswing
  4. If the pins are tucked and your hitting at the center of the greens, you can actually be worse off IMO. If your hitting the ball solid, why not at least try to hit it reasonable close. By going at the middle of greens, you'll be putting A LOT more pressure on your putter which isn't always good under pressure. I think its a good idea for very high handicaps, but I just dont understand why you'd do it unless you were a great putter or just not a solid ballstriker.
  5. Just thinking out loud here but I would consider trying to take the club straight back AND as far as you can take it. Just swing with the same rhythm in your videos though. Just seems like the club is going back to far inside at first and thats causing you to give up on the backswing.
  6. Kennay.. As someone like you who closes the face too soon, I'll give you something that has helped me out alot. Do what everybody else is saying but you HAVE to FINISH WITH YOUR CLUB POINTING TO THE TARGET. I know I got in a bad habit of not finishing the swing and when I didnt let the wrists cross before I struck the ball, I'd hit it way left (or right in your case because I'm a lefty). Basically, just make sure you're finishing your swing by having the club face at least pointing towards your target during the follow through. I might even consider telling you to finish a little left of the target. Hope it works for ya pal
  7. The short game is very valuable, but if you can't hit SOME iron over 180 yards, I don't see how you would normally break 80 on a decently tough course. Hitting hybrids into par 4's every hole OR bigger clubs is a recipe for disaster with bunkers in front of greens and so on. You can definately shoot in the 70's if you make a lot of putts or chip it close but very tough. Of course, you may play a short course like I do and be thankful lol :)
  8. I have very similar problems in 2 man scrambles with family members. We'll have 220-225 into par 5's and they'll see me with an iron and feel outraged like I'm not trying or something. Obviously they don't play with me enough to know I can hit my 5 220 or so pretty easily if I make a full turn
  9. That was kind of an estimate, I can probably hit all of the irons 4-5 yards further when needed. My gaps don't really get smaller though. I'm talking about 270 including roll for the most part.
  10. US Open (PURE GOLF!) Masters British Open (As an American, I obviously, may be undervaluing it) PGA (I just don't like it for some reason, seems like just another tourny to me)
  11. thats another big thing, I normally JUST play golf. I get into bad habits on driving ranges and my back doesn't hold up on even a small bucket as I can't pace myself. Also, the closest range is 30 minutes away and I usually dont have but 1-2 hours after work to play.
  12. thats probably the reason then. I play on an extremely FLAT course that is very short with NO trouble in the middle of fairways. The 11 greens doesn't sound as great I dont guess but like I said the greens are SO SMALL and SLOW lol, guess that makes my 39 putts look worse though haha. Anyways, My swing was solid today but it RARELY is and I'm just looking for any possible reason why I can't make good swings under pressure.
  13. You're probably right on track as far as most calculators I've saw. I'm around 6'0 215 pounds with a huge chest and shoulders (and not exactly a slender waist haha). I think bigger guys can use that strength to influence iron distances, while driver power is mostly technique
  14. Yeah, I know my putting was terrible today but I hit some really bad tee shots that had no excuse such as excessive bumpy greens. Is there something wrong? According to calculators I should be hitting my driver around 290 or so. Just wondering if there was something I'm missing.
  15. what you SHOULD do in order of significance IMO Get used to the speed of the greens Work on the short game, mostly around the greens where you'll likely miss your 2nd shots into par 4's or par 3's. Your golf swing
