Stay True

Just started playing this summer. I am trying to beat my Dad at the end of the summer who is about a 7 or 8 handicap. I only played 9 today because I was with my Grandpa. I shot a 40 but that consisted of a double bogey on 4 along with bogeying 7,8, and 9. I spoke with one of the owners at the local course and he gave me a 1 month membership for $100. The reason for the 1 month membership is because I am leaving back to college mid-late April. What a deal!

Totally new golfer here and was thrilled to see this thread. I am 20 years old and have been practicing 1-2 times a day at a local course. I just picked up the sport because my back gave me problems from a snowboarding accident maybe 6 years ago. Anyways, swinging a club no longer hurts and I am loving every second of it. For me, playing a round of golf does no good. When I am at the range I continually see significant improvement everyday while getting great help from friends that work at the course I practice at. I usually go to the range for about 1-2 hours then the putting/chipping green for another hour at least. I also spend about 2 hours a day hitting balls in the yard. I have yet to hit a neighbors window...

I feel that Nicklaus was a bit ahead of his time for golf, whereas Tiger is one of those athletes we typically only see once every 80-100 years. Nowadays it seems that phenomenal athletes are becoming much more prevalent...

I know many people that go there. What highschool in Grand Rapids did you attend?

My user-name comes from what I say when I hit the ball really well or terrible. When I make it big I'd love to make some 'Stay True' apparel and compete with Life is Good.

I am a HUGE Kentucky fan, I went to multiple games last year as well as Big Blue Madness and the first ever open practice where people were allowed in with a certain wristband (I got my from D. Cousins :))

You cannot spell suck without UC. HA! That's my favorite line against UC. Look out for Lance Stephenson next year (if he comes back, I'm pretty sure he entered the draft).
