Happened a few weeks ago: Long par 3, all carry over a pond. My friend hits his tee shot a bit fat and is instantly yelling at the ball to get up/fly/go whatever he can. I can see it has no hope from the angle I am at and watch as it comes straight down about 10-15 feet short of the green right into the pond....only to bounce off of the water....and onto the green and rolls up to about 5 feet. We all stood their dumbfounded. It's been an exceptionally dry summer in the northeast and the pond was super low so best we can figure is it bounced off a rock right at the surface. The ball was insta retired and is still referred to as the Jesus ball for its apparent ability to walk on water.

I generally play with 2 friends so often we will get put with a single. 9 times outta 10 this person is great to golf with and usually pretty outgoing. However about a year ago our group got put with a guy whom after the ranger let us know he'd be playing with us we shook hands, he said hello....and that was the last peep outta him for 18 holes. We have gotten used to having an unknown 4th with us so we try to talk them up a bit to make them feel comfortable with us give them a few "nice shots" or "good putt" whatever the situation may warrant , talk some local sports on the tee, general guy stuff I guess. This dude didnt say a thing... not even a mumble or grumble. Shook our hands after 18 and walked off all silent. Was silly weird.

I am so loving watching the Hawks/Sharks series. Both great skating teams with great offensive players. Hawks seem just a bit better in every aspect of the game though. Wont count out a team with as much offensive talent as SJ but Niemi has been tough. Seems tough to bet against Philly at this point when they haven;t allowed a goal yet. They have gotten in Halaks face and played a style that the Pens and Caps didn't or were unwilling to do. Plus having come back from 3-0 down I don't see them taking that "foot off the pedal" and letting Montreal back in the series. Hawks - Flyers final - Sounds like a great series.

I never really got to see Jack play so it's tough not to be biased towards Tiger. His accomplishments on the course certainly speak for themselves. the off course garbage has ruined that aura he had though imo. I'll still enjoy watching him but it doesn't seem quite the same. I do think eventually he will get that 19th major to pass Jack, but his legacy is sadly tainted whereas Jack will always be seen as a great golfer/person - Tiger we may just see as a great golfer.
