Thank you so much for the advice. Except for the part that now I REALLY can't wait to get there!!!!
I am planing on playing from the blues first time out and then hitting the tournament tees on the last round, just to see what I can do. Although a 255 yard par three does worry me
I think I will change the mountain course to the Norman course. Thanks again for the advice.
Thank you, thats exactly what I was looking for!!! Have you played there? I am going for 4 days and have three passes for golf, two of which I will use on the stadium course, the other I was thinking about playing the mountain course. Would anyone recomend any other courses at La Quinta?
I cant stand to watch Raymond Flloyd. IF you have a swing that looks like that and you stick it 2ft. from anywhere on the course you could at least drop that smug look and crack a smile. On second thoughts if you had a swing that looked like that and you knew people were watching why would you smile....
And Phil..... You know Victoia's Secret could fix that bounce for you bud!!!!
I am playing PGA West in Jan 07 and have looked all over for course layout pictures, or pictures of the course.
Does anyone know where I could find them?
Or has anyone played there and can tell me what to expect?
I hit longer and straighter when I shorten my back swing. For me a longer backswing usually comes from me trying to squeeze a couple of extra yards out of a shot. To get myself back into the feeling of a shorter backswing my swing thought is, "shoulder is enough". As soon as my left shoulder reaches my chin the backswing is over. Give it a try.
I tried to find someone for a long time that would put my name on my bag but couldn't so I just went with my initials. I got those iron on letters from a craft store and they worked great. They have been on my bag and putter cover all year without any problems. My next bag will have my name on it but it has to be ordered from the manufacturer that way.
the ball flight will be different off a harder surface like a mat rather than turf, but I agree that you are probably over swinging and trying to hard. Swing easy, it'll go a mile..... if you let it
I carry both a 2 hybrid and a 3 wood. The difference in distance is not huge but the ball flight and workability is. If I am playing a tight fairway I will hit the hybrid, but if I need to work the ball I will pull 3 wood. I also find it easier to hit the hybrid clean from the fairway.
I used to play a Taylormade hybrid but switched to the Bridgestone and havent looked back since. I gained about 10 yards with the J33.
