    Tiger's Back

Frobenius your 2009 would have been lousy too if you were chasing anything and everything wearing a skirt and leaving your A game in the hotel room. LOL! Tiger proved what so many other "atheletes" in recent years have proved. You give some of these guys a little money a little fame and they can't handle it. As for Tiger's antics on the course, he should have more class than to drop an F bomb after every bad shot, but if his philandering ways have proved anything at all to us in the Ol' Bunker here, he has no class in his private life and know it's showing in his professional life as well. It's ok to get fired up when things are going good, but the truly great golfers, Nicklaus, Watson, Trevino, Hogan, Snead, Palmer kept their cool after hitting MOST of their bad shots knowing that in golf, you're going to hit some. It's how you respond to it and manage not to compound the problem that will allow you to grind out a victory against adversity.
  2. Lately the distance control on my wedges particularly PW, SW have been dialed in pretty good. I am having a problem leaving everything to the left? I feel as though I am aimed correctly and my divot looks about normal, but leaving everything left. Any suggestions?
  3. The thing about Mr. Penick is that he gives simple, easy to understand direction. Swing the sickle, clip the tee, chip under the bench, take dead aim. All pretty easy to understand. And his love for the game just was amazing. He would talk golf to anybody, anytime, anywhere. That is the kind of person that I like to learn from. Kind of like Eric, you can tell the guy just loves the game. It was a great read, I have the Little Green Book as well. Both excellent. I read them regularly.
  4. How do you bring it all together mentally? 1. Practice, especially 100 yards and in and you're putting. You and I will never hit the ball like the pro's. However, you can save alot of shot's where everyone is fairly equal in the ability to hit the ball 100 yards or less. 2. Practice putting, again, you can be equal to any pro on the dance floor. Learn to get it around the track with 30 putts or less. One putt greens cover up a myriad of sins. 3. Manage your bad shots. You hit one in a bad spot, why compound it by trying to hit a miraculous recovery. Take the best exit back to the fairway and make you bogey, you could get lucky and save par, but don't turn the bogey into a double or triple. 4. Play within your ability. 5. Have fun because golf is the greatest GAME ever invented. It was meant to be enjoyable and for it's true lovers of the game to have a good time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Since the beginning of the game on the Old Course, players have sought out way's to tweak, adjust, and cajole their clubs until they got the desired effect. Lead tape, extra layer of grip tape under the grip to build it up, heating and shaping the hosel, look what Karsten did to the putter. I don't care how it works, if the USGA approves it for play, and it enhances my game, I'll play it. I have hit a couple of the adjustables and don't personally care for them, however if someone does, great. If it gave an unfair advantage the USGA wouldn't approve it for play so hit the big adjustable dog.
  6. Played a course for the first time today. The Fariways had a ton of winter kill still lingering but starting to comeback. Shot 80, my buddy and I were playing for the first time and a little local knowledge would have helped. It was so hot that when we teed off at 2 we pretty much were alone. We hung around a little hoping a regular would show to guide us and school us a little, but no such luck. Wasted good shots on a Par three that while the green was wide, I have never seen one shallower, 14 paces front edge to back severe drop off long. Hit a pond with a drive that was just over a hill. Other than that it was a testy track that we'll play again, hopefully with a better result, and a guide. LOL!
  7. I don't know that this would work. Like many of you, I have used it and seen it used as a contact drill but never as a way to play 18 holes. Just seems like so much distance would be lost to me. And the Stack? That's the same swing theory that Watson has used his whole career. Keep a constant shoulder to spine angle aspect intact and have your rhythym consistent. I am no swing guru and I don't like to think of things like this that might affect my swing. LOL!

    Tiger's Back

Tigers Back? Sorry, that wasn't the Tiger of old Sunday. Tiger Woods of old would have closed that deal the way the field came flying back. Dustin, bless his heart I hope this doesn't hurt him in the future, started leaking oil crossing the bridge to the first tee. By the time he hit his tee shot on three he went to one of the Johnny-on-the-spot's and lost his cookies. The wee Irishman kicked the door open to where all Tiger need shoot was even par for the round to win. I think he is on his way back, but he's not there yet. Maybe by the British Open, maybe not. As for his ethnicity, I just see him as a human being with some amazing talent and a malfunctioning brain. What else could explain his actions? We thought badly of Kobe, Michael J. for theirs as well, but sheesh Tiger. It's just a shame.
  9. I would like to be their caddie!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, How come when I get stuck playing with a female golfer they all look like Phyllis Diller or Courtney Love and play like Rodney Dangerfield? Roflmao! Jersey Shore. There's some "classy" women. For hookers.
  10. I like the banner they flew over th Open Sunday, in case you missed it it read "Tiger, are you my Daddy?" Pretty bush league. But on the other hand so were Tigers actions.
  11. After looking at their site, it appears to be a good grip. I urge you before you spend 30-50 dollars to visit one of the proshops in your area and see if they have it in stock so you can feel it before you spend the time installing it.
  12. 4 and 1 eagle in one round. Also my best round ever 71 (par 72) at Page Belcher in Tulsa. Lot's of fun that day.
  13. Perhaps you like Winn or Golf Pride. You can check their sites if you install your own. If not, see a club fitter that can suggest and probably has several different types available to look at. I was lucky enough several years ago to meet and have a PGA Master Clubsmith or whatever they're called befriend me and he has really helped me tweak my clubs and grips that I like.
