  1. Day 46. Technique work on weight shift and path/start lines followed by a short Stack session. Weight shift definitely helped stack speeds.
  2. I ended up going with cruiser. I think your description is right and flex is a bit more demanding. Hard to fit it all in right now so cruiser seems better for me to sustain the habit during the season and while making technique changes on evolvr.
  3. I only post the good ones. Wordle 1,045 2/6 🟩🟩🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. I’ve seen people use different approaches like clock systems etc. As a high handicapper, last year I practiced various distances within 100yards using one club (pw) and getting the feel. I found with multiple clubs there were too many variables. The key was practicing though to get the distances right though.
  5. Grand Niagara. Now 9 hole course birdied 8 from the front tees. But at my handicap that still counts.
  6. Day 45. Played 9 at my new club from the front tees. Driving needs to improve but I did get a birdie and score 45, which for me is great.
  7. I wanted to watch something last night so I tuned in to LIV on YouTube. Lasted 3 minutes. The production is just not enjoyable. Switched to Ron Chopper vs Big Red round 3 and it was great. Much better Aussie golf option.
  8. day 44 - slow deliberate swings into the net with a focus on weight shift and hand path. I might sneak out to the garage a few times through the day working on this but my hands are steering to blister lol
  9. Day 43. Working on weight shift and hand path into the net
  10. April 25, 2024. Day 42. Played 9 at a new, really nice, 9 hole par 3 course. My ball striking was overall poor, but my short game and putting were better than last week and I managed to post a decent score (for me). Spent some time after the round playing around with putting and chipping on the green. I will be playing here more often.
  11. I'm a 20+ handicapper. New to me 9 hole, par 3 course close to work. Much nicer than the other one I play. I shot +8, despite terrible ball striking and only lost one ball on the last hole when I hit a hook that also went too long. The course also wasn't mapped in my Golf Pad app so I was guestimating distance and club. Great practice, lots of fun, and happy with my short game.
  12. day 41 forgot to post yesterday. Did some technique work on weight shift.
  13. Finished the full speed spectrum. Long interruption and the last two sessions had a significantly delay. What’s the difference between the Cruiser and Flex programs? I will likely do one of the two next as the golf season begins and my ability to stick to a speed program every 3 days is less.
  14. Day 40. In a bit of a mental rut so went back and watched my most recent Evolvr lesson. Focused on the feels there. Lots of fat contact but it felt like I was transferring my weight a bit better. Finished with a Stack progress check.
  15. I thought about bunting up a hybrid on a short par 3 today but the ground was super wet so I didn’t. It’s something I’m going to try in future. Later on I had a shot where I probably should have punched a 5i or hybrid 100y off a terrible lie with a tree behind me and in the path of my backswing, but instead tried to hit a full shot and fatted it short. All to say, it’s a shot worth having in the arsenal and one to practice.
  16. Day 39. Played my first round, 9 holes at the par 3 course. Positives: didn’t lose a ball (don’t think I’ve managed that before) and had to club down relative to last year despite the lower temperature. Areas of improvement: battling the hooks, but managed to play despite that. Putting was a disaster and distance control needs work. Might try to spend 10 minutes later working on technique into the net
  17. Better to be lucky than good?
  18. Day 38. Got a good chunk of time in today. First technique work where I realized my path improves a lot when I relax and take the tension out of my shoulders. Then I have to remember to close the face. Both of these become more challenging when I’m physically tired. Followed that with Stack session. Finished my program and will post my progression once I’m done the follow up test in a couple of days. Will need to decide what program to do next - I like the shorter sessions especially during the season.
  19. day 37. Spent a little bit of time doing full swing technique practice and then doing the same with longer clubs to make it harder.
  20. day 34. Technique practice. Became too quick and outcome oriented. need to slow down and work on technique again.
  21. I’ve recently started KBs too and really enjoy it. I have one day of armour building complex and one day of a mobility routine. Adding in a speed training day too. which routines do you do @Elmer
  22. Again, I’m not an expert so take it with a grain of salt My question is whether laying back even further becomes too conservative and that strategy is suboptimal as a result? Essentially what’s the cost of guaranteed longer second shot vs the x% risk for hitting the bunker? I think the optimal way to answer the question is looking at strokes gained, in consideration of the hazards and penalties, and picking the strategy that maximizes SG off the tee. I’ve seen some apps that do this but I’m not sure how accurate they are. And again, asking all this so I can learn what I should be doing in these situations rather than questioning your approach Bill. I would give an example of the course I’m joining this year where I plan to aim at the bunker, but I don’t want to take over your swing thread any further!
  23. Fair My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
  24. Anyone remember pro evolution soccer? 🙂 I did some technique work followed by speed training. My 145g speed was way up but the others were average and below my best. Technique work felt like I learned something. Still not all there but it feels like a breakthrough may soon come.
