  1. I dont know where you guys golf but where I play, theres NO WOMEN at ALL under about 60, much less single ones. Ive looked myself (only to try and find a female my age to golf with)... its crazy.... Im the youngest by about 30 years at my course and in my league, and im really not that young at all. I wish more young women played golf!!! Ive tried to get some of my friends into it but, have never had any luck generating any interest !! :( BTW, this thread is freakin hysterical.....LOL, and I actually mean it this time...
  2. To ride 18 at my "home course" is even more than that. $75.00 normally but $65.00 for "fall special".. It's fancy, new, nice, etc.... But there are courses near here that are all in the 45 dollar range for riding 18....they aren't as nice, but they aren't bad either! Your course must be a nicer one!
  3. ........slicing a golfball thru someones front window....... For the Win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... NOW THAT WOULD BE EMBARASSING... Id much rather hit balatas for a month haha...
  4. Absolutely without a doubt, the dumbest newbie mistake I made when I started to golf was... USING THE WRONG BALL... I was convinced the expensive balls were the "balls to swing at" and at that time, that was the Titleist BALATA (of course I had to even go with the 100 compression-having absolutely no idea what compression even meant)..... finally after a few weeks of investing (burning) atleast $400.00 cash into Balata balls that inevitebly ended up (after one whack) in the water or the trees, a kind Pro told me I " really didn't need Balata's "......
  5. Thats a good point. I JUST DID this to someone myself. I came across a wedge a few days ago -The course was dead and it was late so I didnt think the owner was still there, I put it in the bag, finished, threw the bag in the trunk... Got the clubs out today and there was the Titleist Vokey 58 that I had found a few days before. COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT IT until that moment. I felt bad and took it in right away, the front desk had a note with a number for "if it got turned in"... The guy that lost it had lost it early that morning, so he was lucky since it sat there pretty much all day by the green.... ANYWAY-- I agree, don't freak yet. That totally happens.
  6. That's funny :D
  7. Really strange! That rules out what I was thinking (had a friend that had something like this).. You may have to check with a doctor, and get some exrays, could even be arthritis! Its not totally unheard of to start getting arthritis in hands and fingers at your age. Not sure, really. I can tell you I played 12 years ago A LOT but then was in a car accident and couldnt play for 7 years, and when I started again, my hands and fingers hurt. But they would usually start hurting a few hours after the round and be okay by the morning. It wasnt painful enough not to play. After a few weeks, apparantly my hands and fingers got used to the "work" again, and it stopped all together. Good luck figuring it out, though!
  8. When you played golf before your hiatus did you have this problem?
  9. Very good idea too... I Know this sounds strange, but it also MAY depend on her age. Now, this may not be EVERYWHERE, but where I golf (and worked for 8 years), the older ladies wouldnt listen to a freakin THING a marshall or starter told them. None of them! (I think it was because most of them were at the course a lot longer than he had been, so they adopted the "we know more than you do" attitude. lol----and they would just started clucking off rude remarks about how horrible of a person he was when he left. And never change a thing. Courses are strapped for cash now anyway, so kicking them out/off was never really an option... The younger ones were always VERY QUICK to fix whatever they were doing that caught the attention of a marshall... But the older ladies couldnt stand to think that someone or a bunch of people would be "talking" about them- so in our case, addressing the group worked best. I would definitly try both- I think it depends on your lady!
  10. P.S. Even though you have already tried to talk to her one time, sometimes it works better to address a group of people about the issue because once they tee off, they think "I dont want to be the person HE WAS talking about" or they think "I dont want the people Im with to think IM THE ONE he was talking about".. and they speed up!
  11. We had this problem in a league where I golf, and decided the best thing to do was to make an announcement to the entire group before tee off, explaining that we thought we could play a little faster, etiquette specifies one practice swing (two if something interferes with that one), etc. That way we didnt single anyone out. It really did work, although your lady seems like she may be a bit worse than ours. The people that FREEZE before their drives-- I really dont think you can change that. Freezer Geezers will pretty much always be freezer geezers. But you should be able to atleast get her to speed up the other things with a friendly announcement to the entire group before you go out..... I hope!
