  1. Funny that you mention this because today my knee is hurting. Im only 30 so this really concerns me. I golfed everyday for the past week and this isn't the first time I've had knee pain after a lot of golf. Do you think your arthritis might have been brought on from years of golfing in golf shoes? I only ask because I remember reading an article about knee pain being caused by wearing golf shoes because of the amount of twisting the knee does.
  2. I'm the same way. Yesterday I played a short executive course in an hour and twenty minutes. I even spent some time in the woods hunting for balls. lol
  3. Is that I'm totally inconsistent 95% of the time, but when I'm in the zone I feel like I can put the ball in the cup from anywhere and I do come pretty close. This year I had a three week stretch where I was playing my best golf ever. Here's the noteworthy shots of that period. hole in one - 105 yard par 3 hole in one - 200 yard par 3 4 consective birdies on a very short 9 hole par 3 practice course (holes range from 70 yards to 120 yards). What's notable is that on all four of these holes I put the ball within one foot! Finished 4 under. Eagle from 100 yards out. My approach was from the right front of the green, the pin was tight at the right front and there was a big steep bunker protecting the pin. There was about 1 square yard of surface on the fringe where I could land the ball and have a chance for it to go in. Hit short, you're in the bunker, land on the green and it's rolling off the other side. Still can't believe I got it. Less than an inch from a hole in one on a 122 yard par 3. The very next hole; 165 yard par 3 I rolled my ball over the cup by 3 feet. Also, in that period there were two other shots on par 3's where I put the ball within 5 inches. haha sorry about the novel.
  4. I just went through a major 3 week slump myself. I went from consistently golfing my best rounds to shooting my worst rounds ever. The cure for me was making a conscience effort to keep my right arm straight during my backswing (I'm a lefty obviously).
  5. Inside 100 yards I'm visualizing where I want my ball to land and how it's going to bounce and roll and just hope it I hit it nice. When I was a teenager I practiced my short game on my parents lawn. I'd hit balls across the yard, over the road and onto my neighbor's lawn. To this day I gauge all my shots inside 50 yards by visualizing those shots (50 yards is over road and the sidewalk, 45 yards is on the sidewalk, 40 yards on the curb, 35 yards is in the middle of the road etc..). It works really well for me.
  6. Recently I got a set of taylormade burner 2.0's and those things are really forgiving. I've hit shots right off the end of the toe and the ball still went straight and only about 10 yards short. That said, I'm hardly an iron connoisseur but I did get two hole in one's this season. haha
  7. 230-240 19.0 I feel like I'm barely swinging at it just to keep it straight. I'm hoping as I learn more I can start amping it up a bit. My longest drive was at least 290 maybe 300 (well over the green on a 281 yard par 4)
  8. Oh, they're sexy lclubs. I didn't hit them, but I gave them a look a few weeks ago and I really like the way they look at address. I ended up getting the taylormade burner 2.0's and I think I made a good choice for me, that said, I wish I liked the way the burner's look as much as the di9's.
  9. Sounds like an unfortunate mistake, but a fair ruling. What I find interesting is that PGA players can move their ball a club length from where it originally lied. Personally, I think only moving it a scorecard length is more true to the spirit of golf. That said, I can understand why a scorecard length might be too short. I don't like to see honest golfer's penalized for honest mistakes.
  10. Definitely worth it. You'll golf more. On days where the weather isn't the greatest I'll still go out and 'risk' getting rained on because it doesn't cost me anymore money. I can't count the number of days where I went out golfing expecting only to get 9 holes in because of the weather and ended up doing 18 or 27. Also, it's nice being a member because you meet a lot of people that have the same passion for golf.
