  1. Like any good golfer, you know where the club is at the top/on the way down and you put it in the right spot. My flaw is I don't cock my wrists soon enough, pull it way behind me as a result, but at the top/down/through its 100% on plane... However for me the back swing pulls everything out of wack. Seems from what you said thats your issue also. Good swing though... right on plane down and through.
  2. What is the shaft tip on the 907D2? I bought one with the YS-6 and the shaft is too soft for me so I need to buy a V2. Thanks!

    The Hammer

Me and my friends always have fun with this on the range/golf course. When someone pops off a good drive, right away you get WHAMMMMMMMY!! POWWWWWW THE HAMMER!
  5. I've got the Tour 360's (black). They are extremely comfortable and are the best golf shoe I've ever had. The Powerband are equal in quality. Both offer two year waterproof warranty.
  6. Tommy will make the PGA Tour eventually and be a solid player. He played extremely well at the Wachovia Championship but made some stupid mistakes and missed the cut (naturally so for someone in their first PGA start). He put himself in position to win on the Nationwide Tour the very next weekend, making some mistakes due to nerves on Sunday and not playing a solid round (who can blame him)? He wins this Hooters Tour start. He's earned his way into every tournament he has played thus far. This guy has the talent and motivation and I'm certainly rooting him on. Good luck TOMMY TWO GLOVES.
  7. Considering the brand of the club (no offense as you are a beginner) and the fact you're still a 36 handicap, it will be no noticeable difference to you. From the sounds of it, its the same kind of dent I have, which is just cosmetic.
  8. Well, Callaway and Ping offer the premium shafts at no extra cost for the "Tour" model. I love Taylormade but its just their way to get a few hundred extra out of a player.
  9. What kind of driver? I have a Taylormade R7 425 and I put a nice little ding on the toe (underside). As long as its on the soft black painted metal of the club it has absolutely no effect on the driver. So if its on the softer black metal, enjoy your one-of-a-kind design driver :).
  10. Thanks for the input. I will definitely keep it in mind as I progress.
  11. 1) Yeah I had been told about that drill. I know my lower body is a little more fluid then it should be. 2) Another thing I've been working on a lot lately. For me looking down it looks like they are spread wide open hehe. I know its stupid but its been something I've had to work on ;). 3) My grip was extremely weak that day, and I was hitting soft, high cuts on the range. But dually noted. Thanks for your tips. I'm just looking for some reassurance that I've targeted and am working on the right things, so I appreciate your input greatly. Thanks again! And that Tiger video, trust me, I have it memorized. I almost come to tears when I see it :).
  12. Yeah, laid off is my nemesis. It's a huge improvement already (after two months) from what it was last season. I fight rolling my forearms over on the way back and relying on rerouting it at the top =\. I was also hitting an 8 iron. It's not even 3 weeks into golf season here so I'm still tweaking little things. My first important tournament isn't until the end of May. I have the files, they are in .ASF format. I don't know if thats capable of being converted but I just took them off of my camera. Thanks for the insight. I did notice my grip pressure at the range was a little off yesterday (it was raining). I had never had anyone tell me that my wrists weren't cocking properly (but it does look that way in the video). My swing is flat, it's something I've always had to work on. On the back swing its flat, and I've developed a little move almost like its coming over the top on the way down but its not, it's dropping right onto plane. However, the two plane swing isn't something I want. I know there are minor tweaks I have to work on with my swing, I just wanted some differencing opinions from people other then my regular coach. Thanks for the insight.
  13. I'm 19, turning 20 this summer. No I didn't play the Maple Leaf. I played the CJGA-Canadian Junior Golf Association (they run them all over) and in my provincial golf association as well as the Adams Golf Tour in Michigan. Keep at it, you're 15 and young. Best thing you can do is play them now, rather then regret not doing it.
  14. Well I'll start by saying this is my first time posting my swing videos online. Usually me and my coach just go over them but this year I decided since I am taking a course in college to become a CPGA golf professional (and then a PGA Class A Professional), I was going to use my knowledge of the game and take videos once a month and work towards a goal, building a modern and homegrown swing that I could rely on. I've grown up playing junior tournaments in Ontario at a local, provincial and national level (as well as State level in Michigan). I've won once, placed well in many, and had a relatively successful junior career. Now that I am entering in the male tournaments full time, I'm moving on to the next link of my career in my pursuit to be a touring professional. Anyways, this year I decided I needed to completely overhaul my swing and revamp what I've been working on so I can have a more mechanically sound swing that is more reliable and relies a lot less on timing to be able to compete in the future. I'm currently ~4 handicap. Give or take, mostly tournament scores. These videos were taken today, and I invite you to comment. Before you do, please note, I have a fast swing tempo (like a Nick Price/Greg Norman/Mike Weir). It's not going to change, it's how my body clock is and because of that I've had to shorten my swing. What I'm working on: Working on my take-away (one piece without rolling my forearms) and taking it back on plane (one plane swing). I'm also working on my lower body movement and my setup. My miss is a block, because I don't let my body set. Luckily my putting and short game are phenomenal therefore I make the best of my opportunities. Anyways, done with the rant, all opinions are welcomed. I'm still working on getting my swing a bit more upright (not much more) and my weight shift/hip movement. Here are the videos: YouTube - Down the Line Iron Swing - April 2007 YouTube - Down the Line Iron Swing - 2 - April 2007 YouTube - Face on Iron Swing - April 2007 YouTube - Face on Iron Swing - 2 - April 2007 If you look in my You Tube profile, you'll see my original swing and an update in March. I notice a huge improvement. Thanks again!
  15. Look into Tree Tops resort in Gaylord, Michigan. I had a tournament on two of the five courses there last year (played 4 of the 5). They have 4 extremely nice golf courses, as well as the Par 3 course that they always have the skins game at. Plus all the beautiful views, and dining facilities they have, its amazing. It's also not that expensive!
  16. Zach Johnson putts Square to Square. Vaughn Taylor putts Square to Square. Phil Mickelson putts Inside to Square to Inside. Tiger Woods putts Inside to Square to Inside. All 4 of them are really established putters. I putt Square to Square. I can't do the latter. Maybe it's because I'm a right hander with a left dominate eye.... maybe its because the moon is in line with the farthest star of the Milky Way. Who knows? Try them both, and see what works best for you. Like many things in golf, there is no right or wrong. Whatever gets the ball in the hole more often!
  17. They are supposed to play stiffer.
  18. It should sound like a block of wood.
  19. This guy knows his golf. Great videos and has a great way of relaying the information.
  20. Put a bottle of water about an inch behind the ball and right on line and slight to the right of the ball (assuming ur a right hander) (B) [P] Like that (B) is the ball [P] is the bottle. If you come over the top you'll smack the bottle.
