  2. I don't get why he layed up before Watson even putted for birdie. The chances of hitting the green from 230 is much higher than putting the ball in the cup from 70 in my opinion. So what if you put it in the drink, at least you took the shot.
  3. Golfshot without a doubt. Seems to be a bit better battery wise on Android (rocking the Droid Incredible over here) but shot distance tracking (wish it could record that), detailed scoring with sandies, scramble saves, putts and fairway % is truly an awesome device. And then having the scorecard emailed to your right after you leave the course is so awesome. I'd rather have it than a stand alone device.
  4. Probably my 3 wood off the deck. Really need to learn how to hit that thing....I have 0 confidence in it.
  5. http://www.intellicast.com/Travel/Weather/Snow/Cover.aspx Looks like you need to go to another state.
  6. Wild Turkey course rating of 74.8 and slope rating of 131.
  7. I've been getting that motion down (with half swings in my house) slowly but surely. It has alot to do with keeping the left arm straight at the top where as in the video it collapses at the top. The elbow out may show that I played baseball for 16 years I'd think.
  8. I definitely need to shorten the back swing (which i believe will happen when I keep my elbow in) but I wouldn't call that overswinging. just poor mechanics as EverythingGolf said in his post (2nd picture). For the record, I am quite consistent with my irons though.
  9. Was looking at this the other day, definitely seems simple and effective enough. The wrist cupping is probably cause I'm nursing a right thumb injury. My grip has always been strong but never quite on that level. I was a bit appalled when I saw that on video. In terms of over swinging, I don't think so. According to the Mizzy shaft optimizer I swing my irons about 88-90 mph which is about 80% of my driver so I guess that's about right. And hip slide, absolutely. It's not as dramatic as it used to be though. Glad to see progress in that area though. Good advice. I definitely see what you're saying with the right elbow. Yep. Definitely agree. Good stuff. I agree with all that too. The over cocking in the back swing will definitely improve when I correct my way too strong for my own good grip. I just compared my swing to the 3 points you showed. 1st frame, I seem to be okay. 2nd frame lol no. way off. 3rd frame wayyy too steep. Possibly standing too close to the ball is causing that. Anyway, great advice. Got stuff to work out now for sure.
  10. Recorded some videos at the store today. The driver didn't really come out too great so I only got this of me with a 9 iron. Slow mo of both angles is at the end. About me: Age: 20 Handicap: 14.8 Driver swing speed: 112-115 mph Been playing since I was about 15 (with a crappy Wilson box set until this summer) and this past summer I just started getting serious about my game. Whenever I played I used to be high 90's/low 100's but my iron play was always great (worked on a Par 3 course 2 summers ago with greens the size of a quarter so I am pretty deadly from 150 on in) My scores before I got a set that fit me were probably due to the fact that my clubs were Men's flex and about as stiff as a wet noodle. Clubs: TaylorMade R9 9.5* AXE+6 Stiff TaylorMade V Steel 15* 3 wood Adams Idea Black Super Hybrid 19* Nike VR Split Cavities Dynamic Gold S300 Vokey Spin Milled 48* PW Vokey Spin Milled 52* GW Vokey Spin Milled 56* SW Vokey Spin Milled 60* LW Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 TaylorMade Penta Distances: Driver: 290 3 wood: 270 19* hyb: 250 4 iron: 220 5 iron: 205 6 iron: 190 7 iron: 175 8 iron: 160 9 iron: 145 Pw: 125 Gw: 110 Sw: 90 Lw: 75 and the video: Should be done converting in a bit.
  11. If you can't hit 4/8 of your irons why not go out and trade in your iron set for a nice hybrid combo set? The Adams A7OS or Idea Tech V3 would be perfect.
  12. Hey, I'm what I'd consider a long hitter (140 would be my 9, yes) but I'll trade my scores for yours anyday. If it works, don't worry about it. Possibly get in a little better shape with a little more muscle and swing a bit faster. Other than that, enjoy your great scores.
  13. How would black clash with black? The dividers are black. If anything 2.0's will look awesome in that bag.
  14. I can hit my hybrid longer off the deck than I can my 3 wood. Probably off the tee too. It's odd.
  15. X forged might be the easiest club ever to paintfill. Classic one won't be tough (except in the backside of the face where its tight) either so go have a ball.
  16. I'm considering getting a higher lofted hybrid to accompany my 19* black super hybrid. I really need to learn how to hit the 3 wood off the deck and make it more useful.
  17. There's no doubt it my mind I'm going to excel in tournament play. I can't wait til I start my 'tour' this spring. I strive off competition. I've only lost one match where betting was involved and that was a fluke
  18. Might be a slight risk but I'm willing to bet the blacks are about to get the same treatment as the reds. They'll probably be priced around $20 within a month or two. Now finding them once they drop to that price is gonna be a skill.
  19. A4's aren't really GI like the clubs he mentioned above are. They're basically player cavities. I don't think a 20 hcp should go anywhere near them.
  20. If you're already getting fitted don't worry about our opinions. The 2.0's WILL be longer than the CB2's and AP1's I guarantee that.
  21. Just get a hunting range finder for $100. It won't have pin seeking but it'll find your yardages just fine and will save you $200.
  22. This thread depresses me. My best shot on the simulator was a 310 yard drive. Woo.
  23. Yep averages of 10 shots for each shaft. I was thinking that too. My face angle at impact was 2* lower with the new shaft. I mean, I'll take 294 avg any day but it could be more. I recently injured my thumb so my swing isn't quite back to normal yet. Possibly closing the face at impact too much.
