widen the stance. place the ball more towards your left foot. i like to pretend the ball is about 6'' in front of where it truly is...makes me swing alllllll the way through it

Release means many things to many people. The critical release in my opinion if the full extension of the left-hand into the bowed impact postion -- this is the release one would feel if casting a fly-rod with the left hand. This squares the club face and brings the bounce of the club down into the area directly in front of the ball position. This release is a result of a good swing that causes the natural release to happen at the perfect moment. I personally think it is one of the least understood aspects of the golf swing. Get this right and how the arms rotate through the shot will take care of itself, as will the folding left arm after impact -- at least for most people.

The flush, neat divot, satisfying shots with irons come from this release. And so does a smashed drive or sweeping fairway wood shot. The only difference is the more oval, flatter bottom arc which comes from your set up and ball postion when hitting a wood.

    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
    • Not sure this is the best thread but, if the rain holds off, today is my 1st round of the year.  Getting ready I can not find my Shot Scope.  I guess I put it away too well for the winter and thus that is may "Winter Depression".  I'm sure I put it somewhere that made sense at the time.
