  1. Thanks for the post. He touches on a good point of how the ball is addressed. Myself being a higher handicap have always played the ball in regards of how much I wanted out of the drive. If it was a wide open fairway and a long par 5 I would nearly put the ball on the edge of my big toe on my left foot. If it was a tight fairway I would bring it inside my heel. Keeping it in the same exact spot would probably help with the inconsistancies or pushing them out to the right.
  2. 5 iron all day long. I guess when I look at my hybrid or fairway wood I just have a lot more expectations and end up topping the thing or sending it the wrong direction.
  3. Alaska's Wolf Man by Jim Rearden Captivating story from a first person readers perspective. All info is from recorded conversations and info out of his diary and historical data from the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) . Frank Glaser, the man the book is about, moved to Alaska in 1915. While all the hysteria was built on gold, this man stuck to what he loved. Hunting, exploring, and living off of the land. The stories and life of this man really has a strong grounding effect on work ethics and determination as opposed to those today. It really makes you respect the men that built this country and the true sacrifices. 1918 he walked 220 miles!!! from Rapids AK to Valdez just to join the US Army to do his part for WWI!!
  4. Principally questioning a fine group of common interest golfers who may have a background of playing these clubs, since I had already known the Companies history. There are great product lines that carry far larger historical value to different games. However, some fizzle out and some grow from nothing to something. If you were to go buy a new set of Mizuno irons right now you would pay just as much as any "taylormade" or "Callaway". So I guess I should have phrased my question differently......Possibly to; what has been the largest turning point of the marketing, design, performance ect.. of Mizuno clubs that makes them regarded in such a way that they can compete with these other time tested clubs. From browsing through this Forum there are lots of golfers not playing Mizuno. To a person playing Mizuno, what is it that makes you enjoy and rely on their product? Do you think switching to the MP-15 is a good 1000$ plan? (besides the point of having the latest and greatest?)
  5. Good stuff man hopefully you continue to get better and better... I really like the pointers and things to work on the moderators give:)
  6. Does anyone have any history about Mizuno? I really like the looks of their clubs seen the commercials ect. But the last I have heard of Mizuno since recently in golf was...that was the baseball bat I used back in Jr. High
  7. I was in a tourney once 4 people. This one guy had a warmup and routine for every shot that would have put anyone to sleep... Do your thing and hit the freaking ball!!!. However, he played very well and was -2 under at the 7th... Now comes the 7th, 550ish yard par 5 elevated tee woods on the left and about 200+ to good landing area.(flat) This guy steps up and hits his first O.B. Lets everyone else hit......steps up and rockets #2 O.B. again... we all figure he is going to take a drop (line of flight he was hooking them out)...reaches in bag #3 teed up and deep into the woods again!!! He literally starts crying and the 3 of us are just at a loss of words and because how pompous he was could barely hold back laughing at him.....He finally hit a solid 5 iron and landed the flat. Good thing for our composure we didnt all laugh out loud until we walked off the tee in front of him going to our balls.......I am sure he heard us laughing but come on man you did it totally to yourself..
  8. I was B-fit for Bridgestone e7 golf balls - Webb Simpson @ -8 -J.B Holmes @ -8 - Francesco Molinari @ -8
  9. The day when all 3 of your picks don't even make the cut :/ Tom Watson making the cut........true Ryder Cup captain leadership!!!
  10. That is totally priceless!!!!! Hidden fees, raising APR... all the stuff that normal joe gets nabbed with all the freaking time. Internet info is amazing. I had a Mortgage that was transfered or bought out by another company. I was upset about the way the transfer went and the way that my payments were messed up ect. When I was going to access my info through their web site, I punched in the name of the mortgage company. Believe it or not like 5 search inquiries down on google there was a link to GREENTREE SUCKS facebook page. I clicked on it and read tons of testimonials and articles on how horrible that Finance company is....... Needless to say trying to find a way to ditch them quick lol
  11. People Breaking Clubs........that stuff cracks me up! I guess if my tour wins were in the Millions I could handle it. But, a poor golfer like me, NO WAY!!
  12. I have a sister that owns a coffee shop and she showed me the butter/coffee combo.... It is supposed to be some fo fo grass only fed cows butter and something else special about it.... I looked it up of course its one of those absorb fat burn fat stupid trends....... Only way I taint my coffee is with half and half, would drink straight black but after 5 or 6 cups it gets to my stomach:/
  13. I like to hit irons off of the mats. Even though I usually have a target I use those hits to get that feel of contacting the ball before the ground. You can really feel and tell the lift and the vibration of a well hit (ball first) shot vs a hit the ground shot alot better. Another thing I think a driving or practice range gives you that you can't do on a course is; experiment with swing speed and tempo, try drawing or fading the ball. You aren't going to be as focused on direction as much as trying to get the results you want. Maybe that is what you where seeing people do, or the fact that yeah hitting a golf ball is one of those things if it right it feels like a wonderful homerun swing....some people have to hit 50 crazy ones to get the one GREAT one? :)
  14. Looks like I will be another that tries to get into the Wheel of Time stories..... sounds like you have enjoyed it. The George Martin books where my first fantasy/fictional books I had read, and even though around book 3 he started to aggravate me, they were interesting and the build up of another world was essentially amazing.
  15. Interesting, give me a long poke iron over a hybrid any day. I think with the larger club head and whatnot I have higher expectations with a hybrid and yeah I end up topping it or shooting an arrow that doesnt come near my expectations
