  1. Thanks man, my ballstriking is sporadic at times because of that head-dipping issue. Trying to compensate for that on the way back down creates problems...usually it is a heel strike and the occasional "S" word. I see what you mean with the bent over setup. I'll give the posture a look. Yeah you aren't the only one to see a posture error. I must have payed it less attention because in the S&T; book it shows a more rounded shoulder view on setup. Will work on the closed shoulders. Now, are you talking about the first move on the downswing? Cause looking at my left hip in the video I swear my hip moves before my hands on the way down...I dunno.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah...my bad, that was actually the 2nd video I recorded and I had my toes on that towel there in the 1st vid. I see what you are saying with the closed stance, HAVOC said this as well. Working on my posture would probably cure the hip angle issue. Also, I guess I am used to trying to "resist" with my hips like older way I was swinging. Good point. I'd like to add that my misses are pushes/push fades. Caddie view would probably show that my hips are turning too much instead of sliding. When I hit the range again soon I'll try to add better quality vids.
  3. Hey guys, Been trying S&T; on my own (via the book) for the past few months. I will probably get into evolvr since I recently bought a new camera :D. Anyway, wanted to post here to see if you guys can see anything obvious that I probably overlooked. Here is what I have noticed: 1. Head dips ever so slightly in backswing, then has to come back up on the downswing. 2. Right knee bends too far and doesn't "bank" toward the right leg on downswing. 3. Right heel needs to stay down longer on downswing. 4. Clubhead slightly inside hands on the backswing. Should be outside Rickie Fowler style. Thanks in advance! Oh and sorry for the darkness.
  4. I was playing last year at a Robert Trent Jones course in Alabama, and there was a short par 3 that I hit PW into. We were paired with a couple strangers who were awesome and outgoing. Well, I hit my shot and there was a tiny ridge in front of the hole. Well I was slightly taller than any in our group, and my ball went past the hole and down the ridge...so it looked like it went in but only I saw it apparently. Well one of the strangers FREAKED out and like started screaming and jumping up and down yelling "HOLY SH** DUDE YOU JUST GOT A HOLE IN ONE!!" and I'm like "Nah, nah bro it was almost one! There's a ridge there!" And then his smile disappeared and there was this awkward moment of realization... Worst birdie ever by the way :D.
  5. Enduro spotted the hungry troll first! On topic: I have only had a few approaches on the range. Most of the time it was a positive experience. I don't mind being mildly social at the range; but if I don't want to be bothered I'll just bring the ipod.
  6. The poker player? They do look alike... My favorite golfer is Lefty- bomb and gouge baby.
  7. I had one a few years ago where I hit my approach into a nearby lake...or so I thought. I heard a hollow KNOCK!-ing sound and saw my ball bounce off the lake and onto the fringe. Amazed, I looked into the pond to discover what had happened. All I saw were a family of turtles looking back, confused.
  8. The wife and I were watching the second round of the British Open when Tiger hit his tee shot at #10 (and slammed his club). My wife was surprised and even let out a "Jeez" after it. It was kinda funny because I remember TNT airing his second tee shot saying "And here's Tiger hitting a provisional"...I was confused because I never saw the first shot. They later played the first shot footage again because of the ball-search time. I wonder if TNT was deciding if it was alright to show Tiger's outburst or not lol... Anyway, my anger expression varies greatly based upon my playing partners. If I'm playing with my buddy and two other dudes I can let some expletives fly and maybe toss my wedge back to the golfbag; but if I'm playing with a female or younger person I try to control myself better. Maybe saying "Jee golly gosh darn! That coulda' been a wee bit better!" over "F***ING STUPID SOLE GRIND ON THIS S**TTY WEDGE CAUGHT THE **** ******* GROUND *****" But then again I'm not the #1 golfer in the world.
  9. I usually go to the range before my round to get a little "heads-up" if you will on how I'm hitting them that day. For example: I played Saturday at a local muni, and their range picker was broken so the range was closed. I chipped and putted and tried to get my tempo down, etc. For some reason on the front 9 all my approach shots were slightly fading with a weak traj (I usually play a draw), and were hit slightly thin. I inspected my divots and it seemed as though I was hitting the ball too early and I need to play it further ahead in my stance. Shot 5 shots better the last 9 with my draw :). I've heard many pros talk about "I was hitting a fade on the range this morning, so I didn't fight it." or "My misses were to the left on my practice session, so I compensated." etc... I also like seeing what the driver is up to before the round as well.
  10. Haha, that's a good idea :D. I know what you mean by REALLY long waits too.
  11. Oh thats easy, I play Poison. Poison is a game which I learned a couple years ago playing with my Dad around the Holidays. We were paired with these two dudes who showed us how to play. I'll try my best to explain this with words as I cannot upload a drawing. First, you can only use the club you are going to tee off with, and everyone who is playing places their balls to the right of the rightest tee marker. Then, the person with honors, or whoever won the previous Poison round, hits first. The objective is to hit the adjacent tee marker with your ball, then the tee marker you shot from initially. After this your ball becomes "Poison" and you try to eliminate the other players by hitting your ball into theirs. Also, you take turns if you miss a tee marker or another player's ball. The person who eliminates everyone else's ball, wins! About the first step; make sure when you initially place your ball behind the right tee marker, that it is not blocking your shot...if that makes sense. Kindof behind the imaginary line the tee marker represents (Like in real golf not teeing up infront of the tee markers). It's pretty addicting and strategy comes into play. The only drawback is if you get into a heated Poison match and the group in front of you has cleared...you want to finish the match!
  12. Just splooge and buy 'em bro. You already said you hit the new ones great eh? Help out the economy and treat yourself to some sexy blades. But really, its probably a mental thing. If you go up to your iron shots and go "Ballz, I gotta hit this shot, I don't wanna blow this great drive I just hit...." your confidence drops.
  13. I would recommend checking out P90x. It has all you are looking for with strength training, yoga (for stretching), and cardio. Ive been on the program for about 2 months now and can really feel more power behind all my shots. Not to mention looking more cut .
  14. P90x is amazing for golf. I can speak out of experience. I've been on the program for about 2 months now, and I can just FEEL more power with my swing; especially off the tee. Not to mention my overall agility is disgusting. I can now do 100 pushups without stopping (up from around ~50), and 20 pull-ups with perfect form. You get 10 DVDs, and follow a workout and eating plan for the 90 days (obviously). I am in the military and am pretty fit--or so I thought. These workouts are insane...granted there are different "levels" for each exercise, but you are always pushing yourself. The yoga and stretching DVDs are great for your swing. Also, there is a "Core Synergistics" DVD which is...part of your swing. I think it is a great workout program if you don't have a gym available, or don't have the time/motivation to go to the gym. Just having someone guide you thru the exercises is cool too. Just be prepared you get your ass kicked. But yeah, IMHO P90x is great not just for golf, but overall fitness. Even if the infomercials get annoying...
  15. Great question, I have no idea... Where's the "can't decide" voting option ?
