I'm going to a wedding in April just out side Austin, in Bastrop Tx. Anyone have recommendations as to where to play, I'll have 3 days to play. I'm making it a 10 day trip from NW Indiana, so looking for places to play on the way down or way back.

Thanks

Marty

If your going to be in Bastrop, then I recommend you play Wolfdancer at the Lost Pines Resort.

Bastrop has three courses.  Pine Forest is a municipal, and it is a little rough, but it has an awesome layout.  Lots of elevation change and several holes that play along the Colorado river.  Then there is ColoVista.  It used to be awesome, but it closed for several years and I haven't played it since it re-opened.  The there is the aforementioned Wolfdancer.  I haven't played it yet, but heard it is awesome.  If you like a challenge, go play ShadowGlen in Manor.  It's about 30 minutes from Bastrop.  FalconHead by Lake Travis is nice, but it would be a pretty good drive from Bastrop.

    • This is my take on it, as well. You don’t top the ball because you didn’t think hard enough, but screwing up the following shot because you’re angry about the last one and didn’t give it enough effort can certainly be partially attributed to lack of mental fortitude. Honestly I think most people like to say that golf is mostly mental because they want to tell themselves they’re better than they actually are.
    • Rafa Nadel swing is awful and that's coming from my swing that's not good but if he is an 0 handicap then his tennis skills grant him to hit the ball a far distance?,I dont know but I would say that's not a scratch drive distance (250 -280yds) swing, more like a beginner, I now appreciate my own swing now..lol

    • I'd take the flawless swing. (Although we could have a lively discussion over whether or not such a thing exists....)  With a really great swing you can get far more GIR's and NGIR's then without one and approach shots carry such a high separation value.  Without needing to work on my flawless swing I could devote my valuable practice time to short game.
