Hi fellow golfers.

I've just got back into golf after 2 years out the game due to work commitments getting in the way and now practicing at my local golf club to try and get my game back to how I used to play.

However I want to try and get clubs fitted to improve and help strengthen my game and lower my handicap (which was 23.1 before work got in the way). Only there is a problem which is I am not attached to a golf club.

I've been looking at various manufacturers and apart from the Titleist Fitting Centre in St Ives and Cleveland/Srixon at Silvermere GC in Surrey, they all recommend a request from your local retailer.

Has anyone been to any National Fitting Centres and if so have you had to request it by your local retailer of the brands products?

I actually feel quite stupid as I don’t follow your question. You want to get fitted yes? Club Champion has a website and you just book a fitting of your choice. Just about all the Big Brick golf stores offer fitting. What’s your issue with this?

Of course I want to get fitted. As I'm located in the UK I have looked at all the major brands and their national fitting centres.

PING, Callaway both request an authorised dealer and I can't be asked to do that. All I want to be able to do is to phone or book online an appointment with the brand and turn up at that location. It's not that hard to ask.

I was merely asking if anyone has had to ask their local golf professional to book an appointment or book a fitting as you have suggested and you turn up
