The most important piece of equipment in my bag is my Sky Caddie GPS. Knowing the yardage to the front back and middle of the green has taken all the guesswork out which has removed those little voices of doubt I get in my head. I have gone from a 12 to a 7 in the 6 months since I got it.

My Boccieri Heavy B3-M putter is my best purchase so far. 3-putts were almost expected before, and I used to get really shaky over 3 footers. This putter lets me take aim and pull the trigger. There's really no other way to explain it. It's harder to judge longer distances, but I'll give that up to make the short ones any day.

When I first started playing a few years ago, I began experimenting with putters, acquiring quite a number of them as I learned that mallets worked better for me than blades. Like many players, I struggled with a consistent putting stroke. Eventually, I determined a relatively heavy, high MOI, center shafted putter would help me keep the putter head from twisting and assist my back and through stroke.

I discovered the Bobby Grace putters, just as Grace inked a deal with MacGregor. I ended up ordering one, by quite an unintended coincidence, from Mr. Grace, himself. After changing putters frequently and, additionaly, almost every other club in my bag at least once, I have now kept this putter in my bag longer than any club I now own.

While I flirt with the idea of switching to the new Rossa Spider and, although I love the Bettinardi BB-1 and Cameron putters I own and still putt with on the carpet in my home, it is the Grace MacGregor I return to with the same love and ardor that Ben and Ganja have for Lorena.

Ahhhh, like Tristan und Isolde: true love.

The driver listed in my sig... it is a knockoff with an older UST proforce Gold shaft... but I hit it like no other. Total cost was $125... about 1/3 the price of the Sasquatch when it first came out, and it performs and looks better. No ugly gray half moon... instead the top is one color... blue. Fantastic club... makes me feel guilty playing a knockoff that performs so well.

I recently picked up a used 17* Nickent 3DX (orig model) hybrid for $40. I've tried TM Burner, Mizuno Clk, Adams and others and they've never been right. Too high, too stiff, always too something. In several rounds with the 3DX, I've found my 220 yard club -- sweet off the tee and easy from the fairway. Just swing easy.

For about the price of a dozen balls, I've got a winning club for tight par fours and long approach shots. Very pleased.
