I need some help.. I wanted to reshaft a Taylormade Burner NON TP version. The guy who installed it put in a Graffaloy prolaunch blue at 46 inches and felt so heavy I couldn't swing it. To make a long story short I noticed the Taylormade swingweight is D5 which suprised me.. I am going to put in a new Graffaloy Prolaunch Platinum which is 58 grams.. My question is in any other set up with the shaft weighing more than 50 grams shouldn't you make the swingweight more like d2 or d3.. because with the heavier shaft it will make the swingweight heavier correct?? I was told with this shaft to make it a d2 the shaft will need to be 44 3/4 ....... help!!!!!

Thats funny. You have 2 threads, where you bash the Graffalloy Shafts. A much more educated statement would be to state why you think Graffalloy shafts are garbage for you. They work for MANY people, and quite well at that. I just got fitted yesterday for the Tour Burner and the Graffalloy Red stiff was by far longer with much less left/right dispersion than any other shaft I tried. Different strokes for different folks.

you will never see a lond drive pro or a pga pro have a graf o garbage shaft on there driver. These are great shafts for people who need help getting the ball up in the air. I Just would never recomend it for anyone. To be honest i have a 48" smt 5* driver with a Graffaloy LD shaft on it right now. I needed a shaft to get the ball up alittle more with the 5* in competion. Other than that the shafts are garbage. You can get way better shafts at the same price maybe even cheaper. Try a Purple ICE shaft they are cheaper and look better and will do a better job.

Are you R7425 reincarnated or something, you seem to come out with the same unfounded rubbish.

Grafalloy are not rubbish at all, unfortunately their site isn't working at the mo, but i'm sure i could find plenty of pros who use their shafts. As soon as their site is going i will do this!

I have no problem at all getting the ball in the air and yet i use a grafalloy and am perfectly happy with it.

You know what i think is rubbish?

People who think their opinion (unfounded opinion at that) is gospel and that everyone should listen to them and do what they say!

1) See Bubba Watson. Exceptionally long hitter that uses a Graffalloy Shaft 2) They tend to have a slightly lower trajectory, (Prolaunch Red). This may be why you didnt like the shaft. Please do some research prior to posting false information. Better for the community.

Padraig Harrington used a Grafalloy Ultralite shaft to win the British Open last year.

doubt you are gonna find a Grafalloy Prototype Bi-Matrx Hot Pink Stiff
shaft on the open market. But you might want to spend the doe on it since bubba watson uses it. I just think besides the shaft he has and the LD shaft i have on my club the rest are garbage. Thats what these forums are about peoples opions. I don't have to do all kinds of internet research. i hit all there shafts and didn't like any of them.

Yeah because they didn't fit your swing, maybe they fit my swing, or someone else's. and yes this forum takes opinions, but when we state our opinions we don't tell everyone else that they are 100% true

i never said 100% true. just telling you what i thought. Who cares not a good shaft for me then. Like i said i have one on my Long Driver so they must be semi good. Just not for my regular driver. It's not like i am sponsored by Graffaloy and i run around saying they are garbage. Just a average joe who doen't like them. No Big deal. Just like i could say Scotty Cameron's are way over priced and look just like a Ping for half the money. Just my opinion. You may disagree or agree. Sorry for getting everyone in a uproar over a shaft. Hope you buy find the right one. Try a bunch don't settle for nothing less than the best.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
