weak wedges, irons

I have been working on a problem I have, back swing is one plane, follow through is two plane, which leads shanks and such. Now that my swing is one plane all the way, I have been hitting weak irons, as in just straight up, not very long, and my wedges have been as bad, with the occasional skull. I think i might be sweeping the ball, but I take divots in front of the ball, and then when I try to exaggerate it, I push slice and balloon them higher. help?

First off I like that you're from the big SC

My recomendation would be go to the driving, range, slow your swing down and just try to get the club completely square. Swing half speed at first and gradually work up to full speed

Are your weak irons the short irons? I was having a real problem with my wedges and short irons for a while and it sounded just like what you are describing. Finally i figured out that i had the ball to far forward, and needed to play short irons further back in my stance, and voila! Better contact, lower ball flight, more spin and longer shots... give it a try.

BTW, this is pretty much just for wedge-8i, don't try to play long irons back in your stance .
