I went to Golf Galaxy and tried several clubs out.
Titleist AP1
Cobra S9
Wilson Ci7
Mizuno MP-57

The Titleist and Mizuno had the best feel but Cobra was the easiest to hit.

I have about ~100 CHS for my driver but only about ~80 CHS when I hit normally with my irons. I can crank up the driver and irons to ~110 and ~90 but then I become more inconsistent. I have stock stiff shafts for my driver and hybrid but I'm wondering if I should be getting a regular or stiff steel irons.

Difference between MP-57 vs MP-60. The guy at the shop said the 57 is a newer model and they lowered the cavity or something on it.

The MP-57 is a full cavity back while the MP-60 is a Cut Muscle with a Half Cavity back. They are two totally different clubs.

If you're looking for more forgiveness and larger sweet spot, go with the MP-57.

If you're looking for playability and increase in trajectory, go with the MP-60.

As for the flex, find the shaft that you want to play with and then choose the flex. Not all stiff shafts play the same and not all shafts weigh the same. My iron swing speed is slightly faster than your's. I'm using the Project X 6.0. They're about $25-$30, each. I also have the Apollo Stepless Stiff shafts and they cost about $5.

How are MP-30's comparable to the MP-57? I found the MP-30's really cheap on eBay and there was a set of MP-57 used at Golf Galaxy for $629.

The MP-30s has a deeper cavity than the MP-60s making it more forgiving but providing similar playability. However, it is not a full cavity back iron like the MP-57. The MP-57 is the most forgiving line in the MP series. I'm sure you can work the MP-57 but not to the extent you could with the MP-30.

For workability, I would recommend demoing all three but with an iron that you are really comfortable with, say an 8I. For distance and forgiveness, I would demo a 5I. I believe all good ball strikers hit their 5I, on average, 180 yards. That's a very good long iron distance, IMO, to test a club. Just my two cents.

I putted for quite a long time testing out the Ping Karsten B60 and the Odyssey White Hot Tour #2 . The White Hot definitely felt better for me. Is putter fitting important or can I just buy the standard one?

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
