I am looking into a new grip size. I use to play with clubs that had big leather wraps and I remember liking those despite my small hand size (very tight in a Men's small glove).
Now I use so called Golf Pride Tour Velvet Ladies which don't seem any different than the normal Tour Velvets on my 0.600 shafts. When I take my grip, my ring and middle fingers do not touch my thumb pad (as Leadbetter says for the proper grip).

Will looking into smaller grips help even if my club shaft is 0.600? I hear PING makes some that are pretty small. Also, even if it is counterintuitive, does it make sense to look at larger grips?

I actually moved up to the midsize. I also have somewhat small and slim hands, but I found the best feel and performance in the Golf Pride DD2 midsize grip. I feel more in control of the club and they have increased my accuracy and touch. It may be just a mental thing,(which I think golf is sometimes 99% mental ), but it seems that the very slight few ounces of extra weight in the grip make the club feel lighter and easier to control.
