Hi guys,

I'm not really new to golf (been playing on and off about 10 years) but I'm not very good (I usually shoot in 110-115). I bought a new driver this year, a titanium 450cc giant, which was a step up from a nice Taylor Made from about 15-20 years ago. I played one round and then I went to the driving range the next day. The head split along the seam on the bottom of the face. I had it replaced with the same model. I went out a few days ago with the new one, played a round, and again I broke it along the bottom seam.
Are these big titanium drivers really this fragile? Or is this just a garbage head that I have. Should I replace it with something similar from a different brand or would a smaller steel head be better. It was hard to find out the brand, but the head is made by Kittyhawk and it is called ProTour TourXL.

Thanks,

Andy

It must be pretty garbage unless you are completely smacking it along the ground. If you really into golf, invest some money into a really good driver.

Most players on here have hit their driver on the ground really hard and just putting a Dent in it, it should'nt break like that.

I'd say go with a more expensive driver, or atleast, a more well-known brand atleast. That shouldn't be happening.

Yah, you shouldn't buy one of those new generic brand drivers unless you did some research and found a good one. You can probably find a good used driver in the used bin of you local golf store for cheap.

I played with a dude this weekend who had a 15 dollar driver from walmart, no joke! He was only about 20 yards behind me, not a bad gap considering the price gap between our sticks

My first oversized driver was a RAM from Walmart for $20...not bad for the price.

Mine was a Ram as well that came with the set. Great driver until I threw a ball in the air and hit it.
