Minimum & Maximum Tour Dates?

I had a talk with my local touring pro today. It got me thinking about different players and when and where they play. Do you think the PGA should mandate a player play in a certain amount of events each year? It seems that the top few players are playing in less and less events every year. I have always thought that there should be a mandate that says, you must play in atleast 20 or so events to qualify for the majors? You also have the flip side in which a player plays in every single event it seems like (Vijay) and is a stat compiler. Dont know the logistics of how this could or would work, but it always seemed to make sense to me. Have players before the season pick the 20-25 events that they will play in, and in turn it would make the Fedex cup actually make more sense. It seems that it would help the PGA tour tremendously to have this, and just wonder what everyone elses thoughts are.
