Hello from Louisiana

I have been lurking here for awhile and finally decide to join. I do enjoy reading all the posts and hopefully will chime in from time to time.

I am in Baton Rouge, LA and have been playing for 3 years. Recently I was introduced to the teachings of The Golfing Machine (TGM) by Homer Kelly. This has helped me lower my handicap by over 10 strokes fairly quickly and I hope to lower even more this year.

How did the courses in your area fair in the storms down there? I'm sure there are probably some in much worse shape than others. I'd think the impact would have been pretty tough on some of them.

According to the Zurich Classic website, the TPC of Louisiana (New Orleans area) which held this PGA event last year has enough damage that it will be held once again at English Turn in April 2006. Funny thing is that English Turn is only about 25 mile away from the TPC. Go figure.

They're trying to get the event back to the TPC, I read, I think.
