Free Style Skiing

Is anyone else on this board a freestyle skier? By freestyle I mean riding twin tip skis and mostly doing park things, rails, table's, etc.

I try, but i always eat crap when I 180 and try to ski backwards. I only get to ski maybe once or twice a year, but i always rent twin tips and try to do some freestyle, im not very good though, I just do simple stuff.

Yeah it takes a while, in-terms of spins, I'm up to a 540 right now, and I can spin both ways. I am pretty comfortable skiing backwards, I also do rails and some simple grabs, the hardest grab I can do is an X-Up which isn't that hard.

Skiing? No.
Snowboarding? Yes.

Not as much freestyle as previously after a few injuries and bad knees.

Getting old sucks.

Haha, I used to snowboard, but my knees got 'effed up so I started skiing, works a lot better for the knees.

Until you crash and tear your ACL. Snowboarding inflicts a lot more repetitive stress knee injuries (and head and wrist injuries), bu there isn't much catastrophic twisting and tearing injuries because both legs are anchored together in roughly the same position.

But get one ski tangled up or a binding that doesn't release, and it's goodbye ligaments! Summer months and constant pain in my knees is what pushed me to take up golf. Bottom line, it's fundamentally idiotic to hurl one's self down a slippery slope on a waxed piece of wood (or two) at breakneck speeds. Especially the grade of slopes I like. But damn it's fun.

Yeah it is fun!

But the reason I don't get as hurt skiing is because I am more confident with it since I have been skiing almost all of my life.
