OK now I know there are a lot of golf snobs that frown on "clone" clubs or any driver that does not cost $3000.00, so this is not meant for you people :p. Anyway, I am a fairly new player who has been using a RAM 460cc 10 deg. driver that I got on clearance from Sports Authority for like $39. At the driving range I usually hit about 50% of my drives straight (shots that would stay on a fairway) and the rest are raining all over hell and back. My average distance with the range balls is about 200-220 yards on the fly with more after the roll. I picked up a set of gigagolf irons about 3 months ago and noticed an immediate difference in my iron shots. I decided to get the gigagolf GX squared Ti because of the great irons and even better customer service I received from GG. I got a 12 degree head with a mid-size wrap grip, 1/2" over with an upgraded graphite shaft. I received my driver yesterday and hit the range. My first shot sliced off the right edge of the club head and shot up and to the right, hitting the fence. OK that was just nerves. Next shot actually hit the 250 sign on the fly (ok its a big sign, but still it was pretty cool) The rest of my drives were about 80% straight and 20-40 yards further than I ever hit before. I still had a few total muffs but they were my own fault because I rushed or tensed up or just sucked. What really impressed me was how many shots were now heading straight compared to the old driver. It really seemed to be very forgiving of my rookie swing. I am now completely sold on the squared head drivers.
I just had to tell somebody :)

A square headed driver in theory will provide much more forgiveness. Im glad you found stuff that works. Great job. The swing will come in time. Keep having fun.

Very nice.

I actually want to get the forged blades they have. Maybe after next season.

Hey, if it works for you who are we to argue?? Price/reputation of the club counts for nothing if it works on your hands.

    • Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…

If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
