About an hour before my tee time here, so I haven't tried my clubs yet, but I was able to take a few pitch shots in the yard.

I noticed that I was having trouble hitting the ball a little. It may be because they are more advanced players irons than my old ones.

I noticed I was hitting the ground before the ball constantly.

Could this be because of the lie angle being too flat?

They are Orange Dot meaning 2* flat.

Just an update, Ignore the post above. Went out to play and had no problem hitting the irons. Amazing feel, and really gives it to you when you hit a bad shot, but a good ammount of forgiveness.

New question here: can having the lie too flat result in a constant fade?

No too the chunks.

Yes to the fade (a push actually). But if they are only 1* too flat, then it should be very minor. (They are the right length, correct? Because if they are too short, that would add a little more fade. That's the trouble I always have at demo days where a manufacturer only brings standard L/L clubs.)

thanks for the reply harry.

Clubs are standard length. I'll be around the golf shop on Sept 26th so i'll get them fit then. Unfortunatly, I could only get a feel for the clubs on the first few holes.

Started pouring rain and I played through it, got soaked and could barely grip the club, and I got really cold and stiff, but I needed to keep playing so I could hit these irons.
I really couldn't get any feel when I hit a good shot. It was so cold it would sting anyways.

Club fitter said I was Red dot so you are correct 1* flat, but all he used was the Wrist to floor (32") and then went on pings website and used that dumb online fitter. I don't beleive that.

Yeah, you definitely need to get on a lie board with some sole tape. If there is a PING demo day any time soon, go and ask the rep if he can fit you on your own clubs. I know my local PING rep would do it.

Just did a quick Demo Day search, and unfortunatly nothing. The season is winding down here now with constant cold weather and rain. I doubt any Ping Reps would be around here at this time of the season.

Who cares if it's a fade? Most pros play fades with their irons. More controllable and better spin on the green.

too flat will contribute to a fade or leaving it out right. the toe will hit the ground slightly first and the clubface won't square up normally compared to having the leading edge flush to the ground.

I do like a fade, but I want to be able to hit the ball straight. I still want to get fit so the clubs are perfect for me. I know I'll probably have to get the lofts adjusted, Feels weird that the clubs are 2* flat because I can greatly notice it.

Correct, but I could hit the ball straight when I wanted to. I can still easily work the fade with these and be dead on line, but I really prefer a straight ball.

It could be anything from your clubs are not sized or fitted right, to you have not played in a while and your swing is off.
