In addition to the clarity issue Harry has articulately described, it is also a fact of life, like it or not, that people will tend to draw conclusions about the credibility of a poster or the merits of a position from the way language is used or abused in presenting a point. Especially here, where we have little to go by in making judgments about the ethos of the person making the argument. That said, I would never dole out negative reputation for grammer or spelling errors, and anyone who does is an idiot. :)

Down here in south east london you get people who sound more like 'sht upp maynnn ill shank u init' etc etc.
