I'm a fairly high handicapper (17.4), and I'm really looking to upgrade on my iron-game. I'll have around $150ish to toss around. Any recommedations? Please and Thanks.

Alright thanks. But I just wanted to know what the deal is with the "oversized" irons. Does that mean more forgiving or what?

typically yes, over sized irons are supposed to have a larger sweet spot, which would make them more forgiving.

In my freestyle:
Driver: 10.5* G5 with UST V2
F.W. wood: 16* retro raylor with Aldila HM-40 Tour Gold
Irons: i5 3-pw. Stiff cs lite shafts
Wedges: 8620 51*, 56*, and 60* Putter: classics 1 34""Life is tough. It's tougher if you're stupid." -John Wayne

For $150 look for a beat up set of original Callaway Big Berthas or x12s. Or hold out a little and with $250 or $300 your options open up greatly.

Keep saving. $150 isn't going to get you much. A decent set of used pro-line irons you should plan on spending about $250-350.

      Wow that was disingenuous. Like, let’s ignore that golfers actually rotate. It isn’t all side bend. Has incorrect or excessive side bend hurt golfers sure. In no way are golfers taught to just fling their hips towards the target. To basically claim it’s him versus this evil golf instruction industry is just disingenuous.

      I'm starting to move with some speed and confidence. Carried the fairway bunker 225 yards out on the 17th yesterday fairly comfortably. I don't think it was a one off drive either. Pretty much back to game speed. On another note it doesn't seem like my pelvis is nearly as thrusty compared to a this time last year. I hope I'm judging that correctly. It's an ongoing battle.
