Difference between 3i hybrid and 3 wood?

What are some key differences between a 3i hybrid and a 3 wood? Differences being distance-wise, etc.

ALSO: I am curious as to how long a shaft I should get to get my Taylor Made Burner 3i Rescue reshafted. Thanks.

Most 3-woods are about 15* in loft, while as most 3 hybrids are about 19-21* of loft. Between these clubs would see a huge difference in distance (about 20-25 yards for me) and also a huge difference in trajectories. Generally the hybrid will go higher and land softer due to the extra loft.

distance... I carry both but rarely pull out the 3 wood. I am shorter (5'8") and have a tough time controlling the length of the 3 wood, I'll give up 30 yards to hold a club that just feels more comfortable in my hands

If I was 6'3 maybe I'd feel a hyrbrid felt short and uncomfortable
