Scotty Cameron Prototype Putters

i am an enthusiastic scotty cameron putter collector, however im just starting my collection and have a couple questions with regards to the "prototype putters". How many of them are made, is it 1/1 or like 1/100? Is the value ruined if i putt with them? Finally, where can i purchase one besides ebay.

I don't think you can get any prototype putters except eBay, unless you have a friend who is a Tour Rep, because most of the Prototype putters are made for and designed by tour players, and because of this same reason I believe that they are generally 1/1. Although you can get replicas of the prototypes, except these obviously won't be the same. You can get limited release Scotty's through some shops, like I almost picked up a Button Back Newport, but I stroked the Red X5 better, and I'm not into the putter collecting yet, well not special ones, I collect normal retail ones though.

prototypes are not 1/1... in terms of the production that would be a task to find out the exact number made.

there are handmade versions such as the 009 and special GSS putters but these are very close to OTR models. you should include a center shafted newport in your collection if you're looking for a proto model. I don't believe scotty has released a proto that has never made production in a while. You could always go with tour models instread of protos
