What do you folks think of the segments by Dr. Bob that are aired on Golf Channel?

I personally find the core of some of his tips helpful....but his delievery and analogies drive me up the wall. My wife will see him on and rib me about the stuff....."Honey, did you remember to close the door while you were playing today?".......or some other fruity sounding analogy that he conjures up.

I think that If I ever went to see an actual shrink and ole Dr. Bob opened the door that I'd run very quickly in the other direction.....guy drives me nuts.

hes awesome. i went to nike golf camp in western mass, and he was directing it. He gave us very good insight and it helped out my game in the long run. I consider my mental game a strength now. I also got to play a full 18 with him, and i could tell he was a geniune good guy. I reccomend watching the turn or buying one of his books. also his website helps a bit too, www.drbobwinters.com

I find the message fine, but think the guy is a tool with his stories and analogies; someone should give him $30 for a decent haircut too

    • Someone get Ted Scott on a plane!
    • I'll poke a dead horse here. I like chipping, always have. However, if its a relatively clean roll I'll putt. I choke down just a bit, in my head I'm taking a little flex out of the shaft seems to stay on line better because I usually need to give it some horsepower to get it rolling good. I had about a 20 yard or so chip in to save par the other night in league night. That was the end of my 4 hole even par stretch. All down hill after that.

    • This is a relevant topic, beyond the statistical nonsense. Generally, if I can use a putter and the grass is not long or uneven, I believe my results are better with the putter than another club.  Some of the green aprons, when dry, are virtually like a slightly slower green. There are other players who swear they get better results chipping from eerywhere other than the green. I suspect a short game guru has studied this and has a general recommendation.
