I had been playing the Odyssey Two Ball pretty much since its introduction. More recently when Odyssey came out with the "Steel" version with the insert, I still stayed with the older version of the two ball. Anyway I went down to Golfsmith the other day and on a whim picked up the Odyssey WhiteHot Steel #2(blade) and what a difference. I dont know whether it is the change from a mallet to a blade, or whether it is the steel insert, but the feel I am getting from the putter is incredible. When compared to the two ball, the difference is like night and day. Needless to say I'm putting the #2 in play this season. Anyone else have the same experience when changing from blade to mallet or vice versa??

I had a Bullseye putter my first year playing golf. I quickly bought a Ray Cook M1-X (mallet). My putting improved dramatically. But then again, so did every other part of my game.

I've used a mallet ever since, though I can switch back and forth (and did in one round with the Coronado last year, for example) with relative impunity.

I'm a fan of blade putters and I even think the bullseye isn't that bad of a tool. Mallet putters have their advantages, but putting is a lot of personal perception and to me, a blade looks a lot cleaner than a mallet.

I had the original M1 mallet which I used for years then brought the Yonex blade {8802knock off} which I played till I brought my Red X this January.I must admit I am having a problem with my ball position with the X as I was allways closed stanced with the blade but seem to go better slightly open with the X.Well if I dont get it with it it will go to the Basement where all my Bad clubs wind up!!!
