New to the boards so excuse me if this has been spoken of already.

Does anybody else feel the MoJo and Noodle Ice are very gimicky-looking? They have a look of a Putt-Putt ball on drugs. I am not making any claims on how they play but, they look just very gimicky.

I played with both models in the past and found the Noodles to be a decent mid-range ball...I did not care for MoJo's as much.

I got engaged on November 19, 2005 to a lady who had bought me a Taylormade R580XD, Adams Irons a Calloway "MLB" bag, a Calloway Golf jacket (different holidays / birthdays / etc) and tells me I should "go play with the guys."

i used to love the mojos but they dont spin well at all and arnt soft...i changed to the proVs but one other clear ball that looks ''gimmicky'' is the Crystal Volvik...

My only experience with either ball is a purple Mojo I found on the course and used for about a hole... until I lost it in the rough. Purple is a stupid color for a golf ball, it doesn't contrast at all with bermuda rough. Nike's making a black ball these days too, which seems like it would be just as bad if not worse.

I can't remember how the ball played though, I was too busy looking for it.

They're not still making the black balls, are they. The black (and purple, etc.) are/were promotional gimmicks. Some continue on (the MoJo), others don't. It's fine to give away a funny ball in a $15/dozen pack, but not at the $45/dozen range...

And at the $20/dozen and less range, some golfers like gimmicks. Those that don't buy NXTs or plain old Pinnacles or Top-Flites something. Of course these cheaper balls aren't going to spin like a Pro V1. But my wife likes 'em, and she uses 'em. So they're okay in my book.

I'd use 'em for early-year rounds when the ground is muddy and I want a firm 2-piece ball that's going to carry a long way. But yes, they are a marketing gimmick. They aren't bad balls, but at the end of the day they are 2-piece distance balls. The clear cover doesn't help performance (or hurt it). Res ipsa loquitor.

I quite enjoy the MoJo, the carry and feel off the driver feels "solid" to me. Being a below-average golfer, I find the MoJo best suited to my current game. Maybe it's just me, but I have found that certain balls feel better off certain clubs?!?! At least this has not manifested in the normal vs. clear cover MoJo balls, they feel exactly the same to me. As for looks, I prefer the more traditional-looking ball.

They look pretty but I don't like how they play, I'll stay with my titliest balls.
Alot of women ask for them at the course but most of them don't expect any thing from their ball.

Indeed. Most of them are geared towards women and are thus lower compression. Some seniors would do well to play with them too...
