We had our first nice day in about 3 and a half weeks in LA today. 80 and mild. Plus I made a hole in one... Hooray.

Gotta love the Southern climate.

I envy you now, and wish that I was on Amelia Island. You are right about the "other side of the coin". From June 1st to October 1st, our average temperature here in Upstate New York is about 72 degrees with little humidity. The difference in climates is why there are so many "snowbirds" who leave here around November 1st but return by May 1st. They get the "best of both worlds". However, we are somewhat used to winters and they used to be worse!! Playing golf at golf simulators, going to inside ranges in domes, and planning a trip to Hilton Head for late March are the incentives that golfers have to cope with the winter.

Played with shorts on the day after Christmas in Dallas. It was 65 degrees, humid, with 40 mile per hour gusts. We get weird weather this time of year. Three years ago, it was 90 degrees on New Years. Dallas wants to be subtropical, but can get the northern fronts once in a blue moon. When the warm air and fronts collide (day after Christmas and the 27th) we can get high winds and weird green skies (pre tornado weather). I shot an 83 in the high winds. Probably the best extreme windy day round I've ever played.
