I picked up this set of 695MB's pretty cheap. Based on the pics in the sale ad I could tell that they had some wear but it wasn't clear just how much was there. The grooves seem to be alright but I've never seen the chrome wear like this. Are these still playable or should I use them for range mat use only?

I purchased them mainly for indoor practice, to play around with (try different shafts and stuff like that) and as a backup set to my ZM's.

The previous owner was a college player and (obviously) hit a ton of balls off of mats (indoor range in the freezing Northland).

FOr your needs they will be fine. Actually, the chrome degredation will not affect much of anything, other than rapid rusting once you start hitting and leaving them out doors.

You can halt the spread of rust from getting worse by making sure you clean thm after use and applying silicone to the rusted (NON FACE) areas of the heads.
