Taking ownership of your mistakes.

I am a beginner, so about 80% of my shots are bad. So when I get a hold of one, my face has a HUGE grin on it! I usually attribute the 20% of these shots, to good, not bad luck! All those people who attribute bad luck to their shots just aren't confident in themselves.

Golf is an individual sport (unless you play alternate shot). You don't have a bad day because someone didn't block for you, or you didn't get passed the ball, or your shoe was untied. All the blame is on yourself. You have no one else to blame.

Because of that, it makes sense to blame the course. Tough luck. It's just the way the ball bounces. Good shots end up in bad places and crap shots end up in good places...it happens. Suck it up and move on.

its me and my buddies out there and i hit the shot and so if its a bad one, its my fault. if my wife was there and i hit a bad shot, it would be her fault but since she doesn't play, i have to own my mistakes.

I never blame anything or anybody besides myself. If I hit a bad shot I don't worry about it. Golf's 10% what you just did, and 90% what your going to do next.

Agree there! There's this one woman I can't stand to play with....always blaming everything/one for her poor shots/putts.....you stood in my shadow...he yelled right in the middle of my putting stroke...I heard those geese take-off and I lost my focus...and on and on...geeeezz...I refer to her as a "f- head case".

If you blame others for your mistakes, you wont actually know when the mistake is your fault. Therefore hurting your game.
