I've been on the look out for one of these for a while now but have held off due to there high price tag of $300. I happen to check TGW this weekend and they've got an awesome price on it. $200.37 plus shipping. I printed it out and took it to my local pro shop. I picked one up for $195!

I asked the guys at the pro shop what their impression of the PureContact was. They all really liked it and said it's pretty accurate. They have a Trackman there they've compared it to.

I went out back to the range to try it out. I only had my 7 iron and PW. I knew it gives you carry distance but I also found out you can change it to total distance. I assume the total distance is a little less accurate due to roll. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the results. It was pretty much dead on for both carry and total. The scary thing was my carry distance was a lot shorter than I expected. I did not get a bad reading through 50 balls.

The PureContact has a thermometer in it. I wonder how that plays into the calculations. They've got a 5.1 Firmware upgrade I've requested for.

If your interested, below is the link to TGW.

Sweet product. It tells you your swing speed too right?

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
