Anyone have any experience with them?

I have a vokey for the 56* & 60*.

Was thinking of getting the Nikes to match up with my Nike VR blades.

I have heard nothing but good things about them. How do you like your VR blades? I keep hearing from friends of mine that work at pro shops everyone that's coming in looking for blades walk out with the VR's. They also told me that the VR splitbacks are being favored over the Mizuno MP-52's and 57's. I hear the feel blows Mizuno and Titleist out of the water. I need to hit them to believe it.

Don't believe what you hear. I can think of 3 sets of domestic blades that I liked better than the VR's.... and when it comes to the split cavity... the VR's would be a $299 set in the Mizuno lineup.

As for the wedges... there are better... and there are worse. I would rank them about mid level.

I agree, the vr splitbacks have no feel at all. The wedges are alot better, they would go very well witht the vr blades. The only downside to the wedges is they have a very rounded appearance, unlike the nike sv wedges. So if the looks dont bother you, than go with them...you can certainly find them for alot cheaper on ebay than the vokeys.

For what it's worth, my brother works as an assistant pro in NC and says the VR's are flying off the shelf at a much higher clip than anything else, and it's not even close. However, the wedges not so much. People still gravitate to the Cleveland's and Vokeys.

Ovcourse they are. The reviews they got were great. Like I said my 3 friends that work at pro shops all said the same thing. I don't believe reviews in forums from fan boys. If you own Mizuno's then your going to be biased towards them. I play PINGS and want to switch to a forged club for added feel. I will give my UNBIASED review after I hit the VR blades, VR split-backs, AP-2's, Mizuno MP-52's, 57's and 62's. I am hitting them and getting fitted tomorrow.

I haven't hit them yet because they haven't come in yet. I having been hitting the demos.

I agree with you about the mizunos and titleists. I went through a fitting with them specifically and actually liked the titleists more. True I only demoed the MP-67s. But, just didn't feel that "GFF" love. I even thought that the Cleveland Tours felt better than them. I know there is a strong following for the Mizunos. However, I am not one. For me, it comes down to performance, and they didn't feel as good as the Nikes. Just my opinion.

Heres an honest opinion from an unbias guy.

I went to buy Mizuno MP52s and Vokey Wedges from Golf town in Toronto.

I hit both the MP52s and VR Splits. I hit the splits a bit further / straighter and they felt just as nice as the Mizunos.

All my course members told me go get the mizunos ....

I walked out with the Mizzunos.
I couldnt sleep for 3 nights. I went back a few days later and picked up the VR Splits, VR Wedges (52.56.60).

They are AMAZING clubs. The Vokey wedges 2009 IMO are so overratted. Sure they spin the heck out of the ball but they are SO heavy and lack feel. The VR Wedges are much better.

Just my 2 cents. But I've tried everything this year and the VRs are in my bag for 2009. I WISH i could play the blades but my ball striking is not there yet. Hopefully soon enough.

I do not understand the love for mizunos. I have never seen such passion for any other brand of golf equipment on the forums I've been to.

IMO the Nike, Titleists and cleveland blades performed better than they did. Maybe it was just my swing.

I just learn to block out all the Mizuno FANBOY'S. Mizuno makes nice clubs, I have been playing a set for 3 years but I am open to other brands. It seems a lot of people on this forum will tell you whatever they own is the best clubs out there. In reality, Mizuno's are forged in the same factory's in China with the same metal as every other forged club from a major manufacturer. If you want the BEST then you fork out the bucks for a Japanese forged club.

mizuno does make nice clubs no doubt. But the fan boy attitute is killing me.

I agree. While I was demoeing irons, the pro asked if I had tried the Nike VR blades. I have to admit that I had not even considered them because I considered Nike to be a johnny-come-lately and was trying to buy their way in using Tiger.

Had to admit that as soon as I started to hit them, I loved them. I was thiiiiiissssss close to going with the Titleist MBs before hitting the Nikes. I do have to admit that, IMO, the Titleists are a better looking club than my Nikes. One more thing, IMO I hit the Nike blades better than the Nike split cavities which are supposed to be a more forgiving club than the blades. Was not at all impressed with them. The owner of the driving range I go to says that the blades are by far the best of the line and does not sell many split.

Mizuno makes great products, I've never been unimpressed by any of their clubs before. IMO, many people support Mizuno passionately because it doesn't have as much large of a tour staff as other OEMs, therefore they think it is underrated. I can't wait to try those VR blades though, they look so sweet!

***edit*** Oh, and one more thing, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems you only tried the MP-67s. There's always the possibility that they were just not suited for you, you can't judge a whole company just because you didn't particularly care for one of their offerings.
