I'm going to be getting a new set this year (finally replacing my 10 year old Tommy Armour 845s Titanium inserts) and really like the AP2. Has anyone hit both the AP2 and the ZB forged for comparison? I'll have to compare them myself at the range, but just wondering if the ZB would be considered more inbetween the AP2 and a true blade or does it skew to the true blade side.

I have hit them both, the ZB isn't a true blade and not a real cavity back either, it kinds of falls between those two. I really like them and thought they were great. I would have bought them instead of my MP-60 if I hadn't got such a good deal.

Of course I really like the AP2 also, IMHO they are the most forgiving forged club on the market.

The AP1 isn't a forged club, it is a cast club. I did not try the AP1, as I am a die hard forged club fan.

The ZB's are a combo set, but I feel they definitely skew to the blade side with the minimal offset and the more compact head size (in comparison to the AP2), but it's not by much. The ZB's 7-PW are blades.

I hit both the ZB and the AP2 last fall when I was getting new irons. I really didn't like the AP2, mainly due to the look. The feel/performance was there and it's a fine club, just not for me. I really liked the ZB though. It was a hard decision between the ZB and the ZM. In the end I went with the ZM but likely would have liked the ZB just as much.

I agree with rebby. I hit both many times last year trying to decide. The AP2is a fine club, I just liked the ZB better. Hard to explain why. The ZB looks, feels, and plays like a true blade, but the AP2 plays like one also.

There have been many discussions on here comparing the two. Do a search with 'ZB' and/or 'AP2' and many things will come up.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

AP1s are more forgiving but they aren't forged, they are cast.

I demoed them both and would choose the Titleist zb. I recently did an iron fitting at Golfer's Warehouse and since I chose accuracy as my #1 priority, the ZBs came in first.

I will say that the Cleveland blades came in 2nd with more distance and a better launch angle.

I ultimately decided to go the the Nike VR blades though. I loved how they hit at the range.

IMO, the Titleists are the prettiest clubs out there.
