I need some help!

I'm looking for a new driver and have narrowed it down.. a little.

What is your advice on these drivers based on performance?

TaylorMade Tour Burner Driver (Black and Red)
TaylorMade Burner Driver (Silver and Red)
TaylorMade Burner Draw Driver (Silver and Red)
Nike SQ SUMO 5900 (Silver, Yellow and Black)
Nike SQ SUMO 5000 (Silver,Yellow and Black)
Callaway Golf FT-5 (Silver,Red and Black)
Callaway Golf FT-i (Silver,Red and Black)


Any advice appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. I would also consider the 909 DCOMP unless you struggle w/ the rights. If so i would try the burner or TB. Maybe the ft-5 but the sound and feel is IMHO.

I have a little trouble with slicing, but its not too bad.

I'm looking for a driver with good feel and good accuracy.

Well that xes the 909 try the cobras they are pretty soid drivers just be prepared to wipe the blood from your ears

The Tour Burner feels great. I got rid of mine b/c the shaft/loft did not fit me, but the one good drive I hit with it sticks with me. Very solid, very long. Make sure to try all those clubs out, the decision is all yours.

Im leaning more towards a TaylorMade or a Callaway. I'll have to hit them though.

I tried the Titleist out the other day and liked it but didnt want to spend the $400 to get it. I wish i had it.

I would put cobra on your list....last years L4V with the right shaft is very long and forgiving

I've used the FT-3 for a couple of years now and I'm a big fan. The driver is one club in my bag I'm not looking to change. I agree that the sound is a little odd, but when it's your sound and it's closely followed by a solid shot down the middle you don't mind too much, though be prepared for some strange looks from fellow golfers who haven't heard the FT sound before, thinking about it it's almost like a loud click.

What is Cobra's top Driver?

I havent paid much attention to them over the years.

Ill have to try out the FT-5.

Look into the Cobra speed series. There are a few different options that you can choose to best fit your swing. Also don't neglect your shaft selection as this will be the engine that drives your new head.

Personally, not a big fan of either Taylor Made or Callaway. I like the Titleist and the Cobra is in second place for me.

The shaft is the engine of the club head. So dont neglect it. If you play a shaft that doesnt fit your swing, you will incur a variety of misses, and sap yourself of distance. Heads, while important, will not to what they are capable of unless you have the correct shaft for it.

So if you battle the right, a shaft with a bit more torque would be in order, if you have too fast a tempo, a heavier shaft would help. If your ball flight is too low, a higher launching shaft will assist, etc etc.
