The other course in my city has a very high number of people playing from the wrong tees because their Men's club makes 4 of their 5 flights play from the back tees. They have one flight that anyone can play in from the white tees but all other flights have to play the blues. This includes the "D" flight with handicaps over 20, it's no wonder that it always takes 5 hours to play there. In my men's club the + to 13 handicaps play the blues the 14 and over play the whites.

I chose 21-40, but almost chose 41-60. Maybe it's just me, but I still think it is a problem. I don't think enough people understand ratings and slopes. Most people just look at the yardage. Just my opinion.

I was in between those two choices as well... I think some courses proabaly have more problems than others... and if we're talking about a % of GOLFERS that is different than a % of ROUNDS. Better golfers usually play MORE ROUNDS than hacks. Hacks know less about the game and thus probably play the wrong tees more often... so it depends how you read the question. If better golfers play more, more groups will play the correct tees any given day, but the actual percentage of golfers making the right choice might be lower.

My brother-in-law will only play one tee box in front of me, sometimes he should play two, not so much this year as he has improved, but in the past. Also, sometimes if I'm paired up with a few guys playing 6200 yards instead of 6800... I'll play with them. I probably should play 6800, but I don't mind moving up once in a while.
I voted 81-100% because we should all play the tees that allow us to beat our handicap not shoot it and most of the golfers I play with never get any better because they are to far from the green to have a chance at par! That is the point of the game right PAR!!!!!!!!Why never have a chance at it??????????????

this makes absolutely NO sense.

I chose 41-60% because that's what I felt. In actual fact, it's probably much lower, especially after reading some of the replies posted here.

I'm comfortable playing any tees, even the front tees can be fun once or twice a year (it's a completely different golf course) but normally, I like to play the tees that are closest to 6600/72/130.

I usually only play (this is past experience) the 7000 yard tees if the weather is good (summer weather) and/or I'm preparing for a tournament course of that length.

Cheers, Allan
